To me the issue isn't returns, averaging 7.7% return when the benchmark is doing 7.8% isn't terrible.

It's the fact that the fund has ballooned from 150 to 2100 fund managers from 2006 to 2024, and those fund managers now syphon off $3.5 billion per year in wages.

Now we are paying CPP2 on top of it all…

Funny when I talk to the older generation at work (50+) they figure the pension is fully funded and solid til 2060 and beyond, nothing to worry about… and then you talk to my generation (I’m 37) and the younger ones, most figure we will be on our own and the CPP will be out of money by the time we retire….

I know some recent retirees that the APP scares. I think/hope the uncertainty is worse than the current or future plan…

The thought of being reliant on a fixed pension scares me. At a time when our gov is spending and printing more and more money. Our money and that fixed pension is worth less and less. That's exactly how there unlocking your preloaded stimulus
