Just wondering if anyone tows their own sleeping quarters around in the winter for sledding, I use a sled deck so insulating a truck camper is out of the question, so thinking about maybe insulating a enclosed trailer?

I think you would be better getting a camper and using a trailer for the sleds. Easier to tow and you can get more places. Plus you would have to disconnect the trailer to unload and load the sleds. The heavier the tow vehicle vs the trailer the better in winter especially if you get winter studded tires.

lve got a 12 ft...have put heat in it and gona put a simple drop down piece of plywood on hinges on one side of the trailer so l can put a piece of foam on and crash if need be..have a carbonoxide alarm for it as well...

Funny to see this thread as I was about to post the same question. I got the idea of winter camping while sledding from my neighbor who ordered a fully insulated 2015 enclosed and puts a wood stove into it through a custom roof vent. He uses it for hunting and sledding camps for a week at a time and it works great. He mentioned he has to leave the vents open because the stove keeps the trailer very toasty. I am ordering a 17 fully insulated 22 footer and putting a radiant heater into it to camp and sled with the family. Will use aluminum cots so not a ton of extras to carry for a weekend.

I agree tow a sleeping area ,sleds on the deck are better
You leave the trailer on flat and sleds and truck get closer to the snow

I have a creek side trailer, good to -20c without skirting, heated black and fresh tanks, off-road chassis, big furnace, we used it last Christmas out in Kimberly, was fine as long as you have power, without water wouldn't matter. Best bang for your buck if you are lookin for a 4 season trailer. They are a more affordable division of the same company that makes arctic fox. Toys on the deck, trailer in tow.

Buddy runs a 40ft triple axle car hauler he's converted into a sled hauler/sleeping quarters. Works great, but no shower which to me is a pain! They park mainly at Finn Creek in Blue River with no issues.

For what it costs to share a room with a buddy, have shower access, hot tub food etc...I couldnt do winter camping. Need that hot tub after an awesome day sledding
Exactly, 3 guys sharing a hotel room makes the cost of a trailer look insane.

It makes sense if you want to ride somewhere that is very remote ie No hotels around. Or if you are parking it somewhere for the winter to live in whilst sled bumming, makes sense. I know people that do those things, they are hardcores though.

If you are just coming out to Revy, Valemount ext ext for the weekend, yeah doesn't make sense to me.
