Anyone heard of any missing people/avalanche incidents in Elkford the past few days?

Dunno, not a sledder, my girlfriend just is, and honestly I warned her all the time about doing it since she makes it sound so dangerous. This time it might actually have been. =P

So if all of this is some joke, its a pretty sick fawking joke. Its very disrespectful to anyone who has ever lost a loved one in such an event.

Honestly I don't know how to take any of your comments. Its your girlfriend, you have her number, you should have her address, and you apparently called the RCMP? If you did have a valid story and told them what her intentions were at the time you spoke with her then they would take it serious and they would go to the residence to atleast verify her safety, they might not tell you anything other than she is okay. Otherwise, none of this is true and you should be banned from this site immeditately.

Judging by the people viewing this, they are concerned that something has happend to someone. It would be cruel to lead people to believe that you are searching for your girlfriend who is searching for someone who was involved in an avy....

its not dangerous, just risky....and not even that if you have the propper gear, ride with others with the propper gear, and who know the dangers and the proper measures and planning to make sure your not getting yourself into danger.

and if she was going to look for someone who had been in a slide then she probably knew the dangers, and had the gear to properly deal with the situation

im sure if she was going to look for someone in a slide, it would be all over the news about a sledder caught in a slide.

Quite frankly I'm beginning to think she is completely fine, I'm acting like a mother going through menstruation, and there is a perfectly good explanation to what happened and it very likely could be completely irrelevant. Like Power/network failure or a sudden impulsive trip. Unless they were really dumb, but I know they have avalanche equipment.

Nothing to do now but sit back and wait though its a load off my chest knowing I did all I could, especially being as far away as I am.

It's not a joke, I'm seriously worried, but I will tell you the truth.

She is just this girl I am dating online (For like 2 months) and we talk all the time, because it's online and we really didn't exchange huge bits of information, I don't have her address or really any full detail contacts. I figured nobody would take me seriously if I told them this. I am however pretty worried and would like to make sure she is actually alive, all I have is the message she left me saying "Huh, guess the slide got someone, I'm going to check it out with my dad, love you lots!"

But apparently nobody was caught or it wasn't announced if they were, so it was either kept in the dark by her family and her dads friends, or they just haven't been noticed as missing yet, or maybe it has nothing to do with this and she really is ignoring me, wouldn't be the signal I'd get from that final message.

I swear you this is not a joke, the reason I started onto the forums and I don't want to stick my foot into business with the police as sketchy as this whole thing is. I just for the love of god wanted someone to tell me if something happened. I don't want to lose any loved ones either trust me. Yes I have her number, no she is not answering, no I don't have her home number, that's why I was hesitant to call RCMP which I did just to see if I could find anything, and I didn't.

Yes this is exactly how I feel, I love her to death and want to know very badly if something happened to her, Sunday is Christmas and isn't just your love dying a wonderful thing to even this is possibly happening during the holidays? At the same time it's very difficult to find out things as far away as I am and how hard it is to get answers from a society that doesn't even know you.

This is my dilemma.

ok if she was with her dad, or a group, especially a group of regular sledders.....if something happened someone would have heard....take your e-dating worries somewhere else

I only even mentioned the e-dating so people would stop acting like it's a joke, but your right.

It doesn't hurt to ask does it? I didn't plan on giving anyone my life story but it seems like that's what you people are asking for.

no us people are asking for the same info anyone looking to help would ask for. this is a tight net community your delving into, who will happily jump to attention contacting whom every they can to help get answers, and info for you......to do this info is needed not your life story but, who...where....when. this way maybe they can get answers for you. no info = little someone can do to help

Well calling the only one I have is pretty pointless, since if she isn't answering me she won't answer you. I really just say to hell with all of this.

she doesn't know my number (as far as I know)....send me her name and number, I call, ask for her, she says its her, all is well.

that is, if you are serious about ensuring she is safe.

Are you from the area? Also if it really is her personal ignoring me cause she knows my number then I couldn't care less, which is the only reason knowing the number would be relevant.

I ride in that area, I have worked in that area, many people on here live in that area. Its nothing for me to call a number and ask for someone and say so and so is looking for you.

I have no idea if that is your actual name, if it isn't why not use your real name?

I'd like to believe you are being honest about this as more and more you stray away from the issue at hand. If you are for real, send me the number, otherwise I am outta here and you should be too.

but then you would not be wondering if something did happen or if she were ignoring you.....you would know

Second Truth:
She has no phone, she has this texting app I talk to her on. When we are "calling" each other we use Skype. Me not knowing her real number is true, but if you google maps the entire town you will find only 3 numbers with the last name "Parker". (The only reason I didn't call them is it would be pretty awkward and invasive if I pick the wrong one) I realize nobody can honestly help me with such limited info but I was hoping someone might know her/her dad or family, or initially tell me if there were any missing people. Not go into some huge tangent about the police and searching homes and stuff, make's me just feel like a stalker at that point.

A name I can suffice, a legitimate number I can not. Elisabeth (Elissa) Parker
