It could be an inner ear imbalance, they will cause you to get dizzy spells that can cause nauseousness as well.Good luck. By the way, where did you find snow at 1500 ft in the Kootenays ?

I'm no expert (or Doc) but I have climbed Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft). I would deffinatley say it wasnt related to Altitude. You would have had a pretty good headache if it was. Altitude effect everyone differently but I didnt feel any worse until about 13,000 ft.

I'd go with what the other said about the motion sickness. If it happens on a clear day maybe a visit to the doc would be a good idea.

Used to get headaches when staying overnight at the SkiDoo test center in Colorado. The elevation there is around 9000 ft. I was told it was probably mild signs of altitude sickness. Had to be proactive and take Tylenol before going to bed so I wouldn't wake up with the headache. I'm pretty sure you will not get altitude sickness at 1500 ft. Calgary is over 3000 ft and the only headache there is the traffic. Lol.

What NM and SnoPro said. Could be "vertigo" or motion sickness, especially if the conditions were near flat lite. Typically altitude sickness gives you a headache, not so much naseous. My mom used to get motion sickness skiing all the time when the flat light would start. One day she was fine, the next she had motion sickness, just came on that quick.

There is a possibilty you were breathing in carbon monoxide. Had a buddy need to change his exhaust outlet one time, just the way his sled was, must have backdrafted the exhaust in behind the windshield, when he was trail riding he would get light headed. In deep snow it was good. Once he changed it he was fine.

Sounds like motion sickness, Get a pair of yellow glassess to help with the flat light scenarios.

I got back into snowmobiling Jan 2012. Noticed as soon as I went maybe a km, I would get the headaches and almost a nauseous feeling. Tried Ibuprofen, which if it is motion sickness causing the headaches, it makes it worse so switched to the non-drowsy Gravol (green package). Take one, 1/2 hour before I head out and all is good.

Interesting to read the one reply about maybe it is heart related as I had a quadruple bypass this June so be interested to see if that had anything to do with it.
