Yeah I didn't think many people in BC registered their sleds. Can't say I have ever seen one with the sticker. Especially around nelson/castlegar.

Most guys I talked to said the insurance in BC is too much so they don't bother with registration.

Yeah, there is no way I would register mine. No way in hell I am paying an extra 7%.

Snow situation here is looking pretty darn sorry right now so I dont think Ill be buying a new sled any time soon.

Lol wow I wouldn't purchase ANYTHING from that dealer!!! Lmfao!! Really?!? Dpm has been standard equipment on all carb summits since 1997.

Not quite, maybe all the 800's but the 600 summit sport with the 500ss does not have dpm.

Any thoughts on the 2013 Summit 800 Sport? Has anyone picked one of these units up?

Hey bought 2 just before Christmas. Has anyone had over heating issues??!?? One won't run longer than 1 km approx without shutting down due to overheating issues??!!
Called the dealership they said airlock? I am so frustrated! Any suggestions? They said to prop it almost upright and run it to release air lock. I HVE tried everything. Barely has 69 km's!! Brand new! Other one runs no problem. Can anyone help me figure this out??!

We bought from Alberta Beach - then went to McBride- then up to Stuart lake in BC. 20 min into ride it happened. Out on the Lake - ( We have an Island out there...) anyways long story short- we were way out in the middle of no-where so at that time our only option was to phone and search online- Sooo ... Then the dealer's mechanic said
said we must have flipped it upside down!!! ?? And somehow "airlocked" the system ?! First off- literally 60 kms - on easy going fresh powder- flat terrain ( lake ) nothing was being "flipped" and for the next 5 days we had brand new summit standing almost upright ( instructed to do so ) trying to correct airlock !! Now we arrive home and they are listing costs!! We just spent close to $40,000!! With up grades - accessories plus plus plus - so we are heading back to dealer today to have work done at our cost. I know thi is not anyone's problem. Sorry for rambling on... I guess I was just wondering if anyone could suggest or has heard of something electrical- or other buyers experiencing anything alone the same lines -
thank you.. Happy trails!!

;))
other than this issue - the other skidoo is so much fun! So crazy fast! Lol took a bit of adjusting too but ABSOLUTLEY love this' working machine ! Lol Happy new year !

I bought one and only added a low windshield and DJ Clutch Kit. It works very well. The only issue for me might be the 154. I have rode 162(3) for a long time and the 154 is not the same. Pulls 15.45g of pin weight (same as the etech).

Why would this have to be fixed at your cost ???? You just bought these sleds !!!

I purchased the 800 sport this year as well, only have a mbrp can on it so far, it's been pretty good although it just recently developed a low end bog, I thought the carbs were freezing up the one day so I turned heated carbs on and it seemed good on the next ride then on my ride today it came back I thought maybe it was snow build up on my airfilter but I kept wiping it off and it was still bogging once in awhile, so some boyesen reeds are on the way to see if it will fix it

I would check the raves. A developing bog shouldn't be reeds on a new sled.

Also, is it an engine bog, or clutch response bog? The stock clutching is lazy. If you haven't adjusted belt deflection and track since you bought it they could be needing adjustment.

I checked the raves they seemed fine, im pretty sure it's engine bog the clutching seems a lot better then the 09x that I got rid of. It's almost like it's loading up with fuel at idle.

I now have a few good rides on my 2013 Sport. This is my third ptech. I can't believe how well this thing runs, I am pulling about 1g more pin weight than before, getting way better mileage and the rear suspension seems to transfer better with less ski lift. As a comparison, I am right with similarly clutched etech's on the flat and climbing (I carry more pin weight too, half gram or so - same set up).

On the other hand, the 2013 RMK's really work well. I can keep up out of the hole but they out pull me to 100km by at least a sled length (in various snow conditions).

Comparing a taller geared RMK to a low geared Summit in a drag race is pretty pointless.

Not too sure how the higher geared RMK has an advantage up to 60mph?

The Polaris clutching is more efficient and pulls taller gearing better. That being said, I am not too sure how a drag race to 60 mph shows any advantage other than saying you beet the guy until 60 mph.

What advantage do you see?

I like the P85. The Team Secondary, not so much. It's hard to believe the Polaris has less power than the Skidoo and I have owned many of each. The deeper the snow (heavier load) the better the Polaris advantage. I wonder if they will last though, so many motor problems and the fit and finish sucks too.

I am not a fan of tall gearing. Don't see any point in a mountain sled that is even geared past 80mph. Just simply adjust the clutching to account for the gearing. In the old days we geared 2:1, now I really prefer something closer to 2.5:1.

Out of the hole performance is important (better speed to the bottom of the hill, better capacity to get to speed just to get through the tough spots.

The real surprise was how poorly the etech compared. After many pulls over the last couple years, I just don't see any advantage in the etech (well maybe the throttle pull).

That depends on what purpose you use the sled. Lower gearing works good for as you put it out of the hole response but having taller gearing in situations where you do not want the sled to trench can also benefit. Yes much of trenching could be because of suspension set up.

For hill climbing I like the lowering gearing. Again as noted the lower horsepower Polaris pulls as good or better than the summit with taller gearing. Whether it is not needed the clutching and gearing combo makes a lower hp sled perform as good if not better.

But back to the original comment, a drag race doesn't prove anything. That was all I was saying.

Does your unit have the t-motion and flex track? How is it handling compared to the xm's out there.
