I have a 2018 with 15,000K, when i first got it, it chucked a lot of black on start up.
Took it in and specified that I run premium only. They tuned it up and zero issues

I had an '11..it got better fuel mileage than my previous 2008 with a 5.3L ....ran great with no issues....sold it to a friend...still running ....currently has over 400,000 km

my daily driver is a 15' with 165,000 km, 8 spd trans....runs great....however GM put in a complete new engine at 100,000 due to stuck valve due to AFM...warranty replaced

I have an 18' with approx 11,000 km....no issues

My son has an 18' also....I think he has 80 or 90k....no issues except

6.2 are awesome, have had 6 of them and all good .
Just up the viscosity of oil in motor to 5-30 instead of the 5-20 is all I have ever done and full synthetic but don’t think that’s required .
Oil changes at 8000 kms ish .

I have seen the limits of the 6.2 a few times. they are a good motor. The truck engines suffer from the bad lifters from cylinder deactivation. We run 6000 rpm for extended periods and usually only break pistons.

I've had two Silverados with 6.2L engines with no problems, traded the first one (2015) @ 120,000 km and the second one (2018) currently has 50,000 km. The second one had a vibration in the transmission @ highway speeds and it took a few months to fix, tried to flush a few times, replaced the valve body and couple other parts and eventually GM released a new fluid (and equipment to flush the transmission) which fixed the problem.

The LS 6.2 is 10.7:1, LT is 11.5? that's pretty big compression for 87 requirement IMO. 91 probably gets a bit of performance or mileage gain.

Exactly, I ran 91 most of the time just for what you have commented on .
Pulling I would recommend it but not required like the boat packaged 6.2

That is incorrect. This is directly out of the 2020 GM 1500 manual.
Recommended Fuel (6.2LV8 Engine)Premium unleaded gasolinemeeting ASTM specification D4814with a posted octane rating of 93 —(R+M)/2 — is highly recommendedfor best performance and fueleconomy. Unleaded gasoline withan octane rated as low as 87 can beused. Using unleaded gasolinerated below 93 octane, however, willlead to reduced acceleration andfuel economy. If knocking occurs, use a gasoline rated at 93 octaneas soon as possible, otherwise, theengine could be damaged. If heavyknocking is heard when usinggasoline with a 93 octane rating, theengine needs service.

It’s not incorrect for anything before 2020 as they have changed it obviously as what I posted was from GM themselves as well .
Even what you posted ? Says recommended and 87 can be used ?!!!

Yah the computer is smart enough to cut back on timing and power so the 87 would do just fine.
