Bumping the thread cause kind of curious, as well as slightly off topic question: At the end of the day is the 850 that much better to spend the extra loot on it? Looking at getting into a Khaos next season and there are quite a bit of new 2020 800s around the province. I want the new front end, but not sure if it is worth spending the extra $3000+ on snow checking to get the 850

The 850 is well worth the money. Makes way better power. There will be no 800 offered for 2021 so they will only get cheaper.

2019 850 with 2020 flash 800 miles so far, no issues at all for me. Twice on super deep days my throttle lever started to freeze up but thats about it. The right gearing, clutching, track, drivers, anti-stab, extra air intake and a can and they are a rocket!!

Please tell more about that extra air intake? I have had the air intake screens completely plugged and did not notice a power loss but it would have to choke it a bit??

Maybe shoot me a PM because I don't want to take this thread sideways. My 19 with 20 flash rips and has 2100 kms and has been solid.

One thing i have to say, polaris has by far the best snow check program. You can totally make the sled one of a kind.

The 850 just seems to pull and keep pulling, it has really impressed me!
Beside an 800 it is even more noticeable.
I would, and did, definitely get the 850 over the 800.

Do you need to change the gearing, clutching, track, drivers , and also add the rest?

Yep I agree with everyone. 2019 850 2.6 163. About 1700 miles and only issue has been the recoil skipping once in a while. 2020 flash and Bens clutching has made it excellent. Only thing I haven’t done is put the pro gears on to gear it down a bit. I own 2 800’s also and the 850 is the way to go.

I had a few quirks at the beginning, 4000rpm throttle hang, bog at 6000rpm, snowflap broke, ski rubbers broke, maybe something else but so insignificant that I don't remember, The 2020 flash helped with the bog,.. clutching with the 4000rpm throttle, cut my warrantied snow flap, aftermarket ski rubbers. I haven't experienced any engine issues, electrical,.. first belt, first set of plugs,.. sled flat out rips.

You got a snow flap on warranty?

By the way I just want to say Backus Polaris in Sicamous is great!
No i am not affiliated with them in any way, nor do i get any kick back.
Simply had them look at our two and say yay or nay to them being reflashed. Nice to talk to folks.

I too have had a great experience with Backus. Never bought a sled there, bought lots of emergency parts and had them look at a few issues for me. Always has been a pleasure to deal with them and had them go the extra mile when I was in a pinch.
