Oil and gas companies are being pushed to upkeep maintain and repair lines prior to failures more all the time, I've spent the majority of the last two years working with Encana, shell, enbridge, trilogy/paramount, and cnrl repairing and abandoning lines that have been smart pigged and deemed unsafe, the problem currently is all legislation, oil and gas companies are able to operate small inch lines without half the restriction of big inch lines so like any business they skimp wherever possible to save a dollar, there's no stipulation for risers/lines to be constructed for ease of pigging therefore companies won't go over and above to do pigging as it requires huge costs whereas if they constructed them correctly in the first place it wouldn't require multiple crews to undertake a pig run. Have fun with your thread as always I'm not into battling green peace on a topic most have no clue about just what the media has I formed them of, and hey the media bases don't just report what sells to keep you watching and their advertisers paying for commercials, no business could operate that way

this is why the general public (even uneducated) have issues with pipelines as the companies installing them cant be trusted to do the right thing. Why do they have to be legislated to do the right thing? I have zero problems with the industry itself and agree product needs to get to market. But just like every business, we have to all to our best to protect our planet.

Yes correct its ALL about money.

Its not acceptable to me,, its reality. Im ALL for upgrading every pipeline. By all means Oil Company;s
PLEASE dump 50billion dollars into the western Canadian economy. F#ckin Eh,,I could use a 5th house.

To bad its not going to happen,,my good friends company does inspections on 120,000 production
seperators in western Canada. The Oil Companies are spending less money on maintenace not more....
