Hi all. Well, we're down to 3 animals here on our Kootenay Pass. Three Mountain Caribou. I've been biting my tongue, and pretty much feel like Mr Moyie, and Mr Cat in the hat here as far as exhaustion and frustration dealing with the stupidity of humans. It's so much easier for eco green nazi's to point their finger at us, than to even begin to understand or admit that they have been at the root of the problem, for some time.

Eco Warriorism has no place in conservation efforts. They stalled the predator management aspect of the conservation process, fighting for more lands closed but don't kill those wolves. 80% of historic Caribou habitat is protected, yet they decline. 100% compliance in Caribou closure areas up the Kootenay pass.. and we're left with 3. Caribou in National Parks have declined at a rate of over 60% in the past decade... yet they scream for more closures.. at some point, it has to be about the animals, not the egos of small-minded, ego inflated, self-righteous urbanites. I'm pointing fingers at them now.. for caribou, for the Grizzlies , and all of the other species of convenience they have chosen and will choose.
I'm interested to see what happens when they have no chance but to admit that Grizzly Bears are one of the prime predators of Mountain Caribou. Who will their feelings lean towards?

I'll link the articles in here that I've been interviewed if they come to pass. A couple reporters were super logical and educated so we will have a few. If anyone has any local press that would like a story, please direct them to the BCSF, and I'll be glad to help. hahahaha I thought of that after I posted! CRAP! Those little schizzle heads are doing pretty good. I think you remember when the kids "rescued" nibs the flying squirrel who was hurt, so we took him to doctor Rob at the vet clinic. After 45 min being with that nasty little dude, the kids decided that flying squirrels were not meant to be a pet... like ever.. and they were much better off in nature rather than living in the house with us lol. Doctor Rob concurred. You need thick gloves on to hold them, and administer anti biotics.

Hahaha my wolves are pretty busy right now. I had a wonderful conversation this morning that gives me hope that people are starting to wake up and realize that this whole conservation process, not only with Caribou has turned into nothing more than political posturing and public brainwashing.

In Blue River and Valemount we are still seeing forestry lay out clear cut logging blocks in terrain closed to motorized use and designated as prime habitat. It's like smashing your head against the wall.

Reading the article on this story and one line that really striked me was that this herd was placed there over the last 11 yrs. Why do we continue to try and make things perfect, let Mother Nature do its thing. Placing animals in areas where they aren’t?? Prob a reason they didn’t get there themselves. The words "species of convenience" keeps being used for a reason. It is the closure of motorized vehicle use in the back-country that is their agenda and that agenda is front and centre. When the caribou are gone, there will be something else. The big populations of woodland caribou are in the north (north of Peace River and into the western Territories) and hunting them is still allowed. The eco-terrorists are just using the southern most herds as a stepping stone to get back-country closures to motorized transportation. Much like the Y2Y movement is using "head waters" in Alberta to throw out to the public and support their cause. On both sides of the BC/AB border the eco-terrorists are all the same just using different public sentiment to get the results they want. I feel for the people taking up our cause as I feel it is a losing battle and life as we know it won't be there for our children and/or grandchildren. Just look more deeply into the TM pipeline fiasco and ask yourself how do such a small minority wield such a big stick.
