heard that last week. Its a good choice, he is well liked. All of the positives fans saw last year can probably go back to Krueger.

As long as they don't try and turn everyone into defensive minded players. Nail needs to be unleashed right from the get go.

Nail is a cocky SOB, hopefully he can play as big as he can talk....

Then you've got the 4th rounder Daniil Zharkov who is determined to be "better than Yakopov" and swears he can...

Zharkov is a big kid. If he can put all of that, lets call it enthusiasm, into effort, he will be a great late round pick.

I have heard about Justin Schultz more than I care to. Having never played one NHL game he has nothing but question marks all over him. Why wouldn't he want to play in Anahiem? His attitude is a huge question mark. Would you really want a young, unproven, RFA set to become a UFA with an attitude problem in the same dressing room as a bunch of other young up and comers who you are trying to mold as a group?

Like Snopro said, sounds good on paper. When I hear the name Justin Schultz, I think Cam Barker. "Big, highly mobile defender has easily the most offensive upside of any blue-liner in the draft. Hardly had to break a sweat this year while putting up outstanding numbers. Is most effective when he forcefully takes the puck and heads up ice, leading the break and creating dangerous odd-man rushes. Has the ability to undress opponents as he goes end-to-end. Excellent vision and can make plays at top speed. A top notch PP quarterback with a hard shot who makes good decisions in puck distribution" Yeah that Cam Barker. Don't read into analyst's oppions. There is a reason the word "anal" is a portion of their job description name. Everything they spew comes out of their ass.

Could Schultz be the next coming of Lidstrom? Maybe. Every team in the league will be making the phone call, all will have the same offer as its an entry level contract. I doubt he would have Edmonton at the top of his list.

Forget about Schultz, go after Dennis Wideman or Matt Carle. Guys who are still young enough and healthy enough to be around for a few years and don't command 4-5 Million a year.

Scratch Wideman off the list. Went to Calgary for 5 years/26million......Not sure he's worth that? Calgary is saying he is a #3 defenceman?

Typical Calgary lets get more defensemen than we need and hire old plugs at foreward. 10 years and they can't find a centre to play with Iggy. I guess TJ Brodie is left in the cold. Never really gave him a chance. Maybe they should have offered Richards stupid money last year and seen what happened. No player wants to come here. We have to pay extra just so they look. We're now like Columbas where players go to die. Oh and Winnipeg had to through that jab in. Bahahaha!

Honestly one of the stupidest contracts ever. Horcoff was a horrible contract for Edmonton. If they don't fire Feaster with Wideman's contract you have to wonder who he has photos of with whoever's wife. Calgary has alteast 8-10 players to sign with 3 million in cap space. Good luck.

Wideman is a solid player, but worth half that. The price for Matt Carle just went through the roof. What is Suter worth? 7 million? Weber, 8?

Many people will complain Edmonton management isn't doing enough to get quality defensemen signed, how the heck can you complete with stupid contracts like that? Christ, then the Penguin's stupid contract with Crosby? Holy Hell, he is one concusion away from retirement.

They said on the Fan 960 today that one GM said after hearing of Widemans contract.....Mark Giordano has got to be just stewing being Calgary's #1 defenceman and being paid lower than Wideman and Bowmeester. Jokinen is gone today as well. And you are right about Crosby. Who pays a guy that much for that long when he is one hit from being out of the game. Someone needs to give there head a shake.

Says a 6'2" player is about average height....wow! Says this is the fastest, biggest group of rookies he's seen, and he's watched most of the rookie camps!!!
