At least the bracket should never break!

Why did you mount it there though...the instructions for mounting these units clearly state to NOT install it onto the engine.

It fit there best. I believe they say that due to vibration causing leaks as the filter bouncing back and forth, Part of the reason I used such thick material. I just ran out of time. All the other locations where way more work to install. I can't think of any other reason not to mount to the block!

I see that many guys use that same location also. I believe that you are correct in that the gasket may leak from vibration. There may be some other reasons to not mount it on the engine. Your setup will probably be fine. I understand why you wanted it there... very easy to service. Just keep an eye on it till you shake it down. I don't think that your bracket will ever break though!

I lock-tight everything already. The filter mount is a nice peace, I can't see it cracking from vibes but I will watch for it. I would think it would crack just as easy if mounted on the frame. As for the fittings, 2/3's of them or on the block already, so I cant see that being a problem. Just talking out load here! I also liked the idea of the filter being mounted close to the original filter level as possible and hose's kept as short as possible. And not exsposed to the elements.

The instructions also say to use the oil sending unit as a supply!!! That dont work on a 6.7!

I wonder if there are different setups on some 6.7s. I know that they changed a few things on the 08 6.7 engines mid year...for instance at some point they started to put an intercooler in them that was HALF the size! Where did you have to tie your system in? Pics? None of my buddys mentioned having any problems installing their BK21 systems. I should ask Chuck some more questions on the other forum as he has sold many of these systems.

I got an email back from Chuck. He mentioned that the springs and valves inside of the by pass systems can be affected by engine vibrations and reduce it's performance. He felt that the vibration problem would be worse in the double filter models than the single BK-21.
