We picked up a 19 alpha used a couple months back that had a couple hundred km on it. She's had 2 days of trail ridding to the cabin with very cautious meadow riding and 2 days for ast1 now. I noticed yesterday the track has a chunk from one of the paddles about 1/3 the way down missing and 5 other paddles all have a 2" crack across the base in the middle of the paddle that expose the rods in the track. shes not at all aggressive and the sled hasn't even been stuck. I really doubt a person could get this covered under warranty so I'm sure I'll be on the hook for a track. Is there any options or is a guy pretty much stuck getting a track from cat? The $1400 USD price on the country cat website has me worked. Really has me second guessing going with the alpha now.

Go talk to Rory at Shuswap Xtreme. It sounds like someone might have been riding fast on hard icy trails though which is a good way to damage a 3" track.

Ya I might go see what they have to say. Sounds like that one track is the only option available? Isn't really in the budget rate now so I might give the glue option a go and see how long it lasts. I really have nothing to loose.

Really tho, any 3 inch track suffers to hard trail high speed paddles issues

Even spinning to get snow in is hard on them

Most likely that track was damaged when you bought it, (stump, rock, or speed). They are deep powder tracks and work as good or better than any other track out there, I bought my Alpha for the track. I don't believe this is a common issue with those tracks. I would definitely have a dealer look at it and let them decide if warranty is possible before you start any repairs. Really you have nothing to lose by asking and you may get warranty or a better price on a new one. Or just drive it the way it is.

Interesting as I have never seen a damaged deep lug track recently on any deep snow mountain machine that has been used for that purpose. One can always get a one-off crappy track that deserves warranty or it has been abused. It definitely has nothing to do with the fact it in an Alpha. Trust me, if there was a problem, KaneDog would have the investigation and class-action boys all over it.

I have seen the odd one damaged on all brands usually there is a story that goes with the damage. Like i was just driving my grandma to church and the lugs all fell off we were only doing 20 kph I swear.

im still waiting to hear back from cat to see if they will cover it or not. iv had a few sleds now with 3" tracks and this is a first for me. I put a rip in one paddle but I know exactly what happened and I still remember where that tree is to this day. but my wife rides like a typical girl, not very aggressive and sticks to the open areas. its usually me "being stupid" as she says bashing threw the trees. I did check the track when we got the sled but maybe its just showing its ugly face now. just suck how that is the 1 and only track option. something I never thought about.

In them hills.
Track is ****, cat needs to figure out a fix.

The old powder claw 3 inch could handle miles of highspeed gravel action.

The tracks on these new sleds suck.

Good to know....
Not sure what the next sled would be.... a non current mountain cat or an Alpha...? This might make up my mind...
Having ridden both back to back, the Alpha is noticeably more nimble, and the track pulls noticeable better in the deep. I wouldn't have guessed there was that big of a difference prior to that.

tagged a fair bit of stuff under the snow this season and only one small tear in one lug on my alpha. I would say it's as tough as the old camo 3" and XM T3 3" track. I always always run scratchers on the trail with this sled though and run fairly slow to keep track and hyfax heat down.

Was going over my 154" 2020 Hardcore yesterday and noticed I had a couple paddles missing chunks in the inside towards center holes. Also noticed that where the hyfax rubs on the track - the rods are starting to show. I have also kept my track tension in spec. Lots of hyfax. I am surprised as I only have just over 500km on the sled and most of it been in deep snow. Very little trail hardpack and use my scratchers regularly on trail.
I guess I will take it to my dealer and see what he can do.

I only do 40 mph with my 3 “ Going slow means I have time to look around. I’m usually Looking around at the paddle pieces on the frozen trails from the guys doing 50-60mph. 😄. Crazy glue advanced will glue the paddle forever back together
