So this would be an "in-depth documentary" funded by the oil companies to expose the protesters?

maybe give it a watch with an open mind before the bitchin starts. you may come away with a different opinion. and as far as i can tell it was not funded by an oil company, looks like general public.

imdoo'n it's hard to have an open mind about this when you live right in the middle of it, the Montney shale gas play is right in my back yard. I'm living and seeing what is actually happening, I and many of my neighbours have lost our water wells.

sorry to hear that, but most of alberta is in the same situation, have you had the well tested before the drilling? anyway maybe give the program a look it was an eye opener, those that where complaining etc, had there water tested and no problems where found, lots of wells before drilling had gas in them, how do you think they found gas or oil here in the first place? anyway program should air on the 31st.

The best thing a person with a water well can do is register it with Alberta Enviroment gives a good starting point, also have it tested annaually for some record to have in case something happens and your neighbors also, numbers sometimes speak louder than 1.

one of my relatives drilled a water well himself for his bison and got natural gas....5 psi worth. enough to run his shop furnace.

You can't test what isn't there, our problem here is losing all your water. Many wells in this area are 25+ years old and miraculously they've dried up all within a few months of each other and the startup of the massive fracking behind us. How do you prove anything when your water disappears?

sorry im ignorant to the whole fracking process...what do you mean lost your water wells... i watched a show but it looked like it was made in the 70's where trillions of litters of water was used in the fracking process therefore removing this water from the hydrological cycle forever as when left over the contaminated water was disposed of in old wells... that whole process is stupid to me... however no i hear they use un usable salt water ????

Sorry to hear about your wells Frock. Unfortunately big oil and gas have free reign to do as they please with no real consideration for you or anyone else that would stand in the way of their profits. Our govt's allow them to. Pretty sick IMO!

Don't know about Alberta, but this is very true here in BC. Talisman and Cambrian are allowed to pull 7.3 billion litres of water per year for the shale gas fracking behind us while the townpeople here have been forced to ration water from the exact same source.
