What do you folks think about this? The expense definately seems a little high to me, but aside from that, are these "promotional" trips actaully of much value to Alberta?

I could live happily for a year with the cash she's spending on this trip. 84g wtf. Probably using silk toilet paper so her hind end don't get a rash.

We could all sit in our cocoons and watch the world go by and save our hard earned money or................

We could venture out, spend some of our hard earned money in select places and watch more money come in.

Way to go Allison!

If she went and proved to the albertan people/taxpayers that she was able to generate buisness or jobs that benefit us then great, I'm sure the taxpayers wouldnt mind, but all this is and going to be is another free vacation for a bunch of useless assholes that apparently "govern" us!

Sounds like a good plan to me too, but I'm curious if she's actually accomplishing anything. And I can't help but to raise my eyebrow a little when she just finished spending $43K on a four day trip to China. While the trip seemed worth while and maintaining a good relationship with Li Ka-shing is definately in our best interest, doesn't the bill seem a little excessive? Just a couple of questions - you may have to forgive me for my ignorance in these sorts of matters.

It's all posturing I think. With all the negative press Alberta gets on the world stage, it's important for our provincial leader to see and be seen at high end events like this.
Never know who your going to meet and the potential relationships that can be made.

Is there an Olympic record for dodging issues that actually affect the people that she is supposed to govern over? She should get a silver at the very least!

oh yes she needs 5 slaves to pick up all her dirty laundry

lol, that's kinda funny if "dirty laundry" was meant to be a play on words!

Do you think that she's qualified to speak to all matters that arrise during these mettings? Anyone have any idea who her entourage includes? (Google doesn't seem to have the answer readily available.)

Alot of the younger generation cant understand the importance of personal exposure especially in business and for government leaders. Text/FB and Twitter is not the way to communicate but good old fashion greet and meet way still carries a lot of miles. It only takes one time to call in a favour that makes that trip worth while.
