that's a brutal statistic. I would like to know how many of those involved someone messing with their phone... Riding a bike, I see it all the time. What happened to the good old days of having to wait?

I see stupid stuff everyday, as I am sure you all do. Just the other day a crotch rocket eastbound into Edmonton from Spruce Grove, I am on the new pavement, right hand lane, he comes up very fast behind me, moves to the left lane, which is lower because it still needs new pavement so it is about a 3 inch drop. He zooms by me and then he cuts infront of me back up on the new pavement. He could have wiped out and I would have run him over. As it was I got sprayed by the loose ashphalt pieces. Then after a bit he passes on the right shoulder the cars in front of me. GRRRRR

The majority of these highways and communities are not designed for high volume traffic as well.

The hundreds of crosses and memorials on 63 should be a pretty big hint

that is a written rule by my employer. Speed or use phone while driving. Imidiate termination. We have in vehicle monitoring in truck so you are caught. Some thought It was a bluff and are no longer employed. Following the speed limit makes us a hazard on the road sometimes. I was on qe2 and a guy in a smart car was honking and flipping the bird at me to move over and let him by. lol

Texting and driving is an epidemic, I drive about 800 km/day 20 days a month on 2 lane and it's unreal how many vehicles are drifting around in their lane and mine too at times.

I would say about 2/3 of these people are 30 and under females, sometimes with their kids.

Just saw a news clip from Manitoba as I was flipping channels. They said distracted driving is now the number one cause of accidents in the province, above impaired. yesterday I pull up next to what I would say was a middle aged woman. she has her phone somehow mounted on the center of the steering wheel, and there she is pecking away at it like a chicken.. When will people learn?

Maybe you should have. Ever notice these signs on the highway?

It's okay 95% of the people in this province don't notice them either. I just got back from Europe and it's amazing how well the traffic flows at much higher speeds than here because people get the hell out of the left lane when they're done passing. If someone wants to drive faster than you why do you want them firmly planted on your ass? Just move over and let them by.

Cause I was in the right hand lane driving 110. Am I supposed to drive on the shoulder if I want to drive the posted speed limit. The left lane on qe2 is doing 140+

Bobbsledder You stated above car was behind you honking for you to move over. This would lead us to believe you were in the left hand lane. Hence the sign reply. Obviously theres no where to go in the right hand lane.
