Why should the oil companies do it? What's their responsibility in contractor vehicles on a provincial / federal highway.
Last time I check the highway traffic act it was the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies hired to serve with the tax payers funding?
The oil companies pay enough in royalties that gets gobbled up by the East. The West doesn't see those dollars, look at the condition of the highways throughout the province, at one time Alberta had the nicest and best ranked highways in Canada.
Seems all that money goes to the bleeding hearts East and extra curricular activity funding of our illustrious government.

I was hauling a wide load on there once had a guy pass me and about 8 others in a construction zone double solid no shoulder cause they cut it out with a four foot drop ... the guy made it but on the inside I was hoping to see him in the ditch upside down ... the oil companies need to make it an Unwritten rule that ppl get fired if caught speeding excessively on that hwy and endangering other ppls live

Bobbsledder You stated above car was behind you honking for you to move over. This would lead us to believe you were in the left hand lane. Hence the sign reply. Obviously theres no where to go in the right hand lane.
Fair enough. lol
The irony that while big brother, my employer a multinational oil company feels they need a In Vehicle Monitoring system to police my driving habits and have made me a hazard on the road to the point I am in the way of smart cars was lost on some. I would have moved over to the shoulder but then I would have hit the sign.

Maybe you should have. Ever notice these signs on the highway?

It's okay 95% of the people in this province don't notice them either. I just got back from Europe and it's amazing how well the traffic flows at much higher speeds than here because people get the hell out of the left lane when they're done passing. If someone wants to drive faster than you why do you want them firmly planted on your ass? Just move over and let them by.

Thanks for this
Its because people dont get out of the passing lane and move over unless in the act of passing that causes drivers to get aggravated and start doing stupid sh*t that then turns them into the idiot.
How many 3-lane wide sections are there from calgary to edmonton? Rarely do you see anyone in the far right lane not even truckers. I then turn into the ashole by using it and maintaining my cruise lock on 125km/hr. Many people then think its a race and will match my speed until the 3-lane ends and then go back to 110. FFS!
I never tailgate. When some self righteous idiot makes a stupid move and you run into them you are at fault. But when I do turn on my signal, enter the passing lane and then catch up to someone stagnating in the passing lane i hang back a fair distance and keep my signal light on. Still 90% of the time I'm looked at as the ass and all i wanna do is pass. Its nothing personal...i just wanna pass...do my own speed not follow or be followed ..is that to much to ask?

I wonder if the distracted driving law were treated like you were driving drunk and got you license suspended would be the wake up call to all that use there phone and drive? Maybe start with a 3 month suspension and keep increaseing the time as offenses occur to eventually looseing ones license entirely?
