Why should the oil companies do it? What's their responsibility in contractor vehicles on a provincial / federal highway.
Last time I check the highway traffic act it was the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies hired to serve with the tax payers funding?
The oil companies pay enough in royalties that gets gobbled up by the East. The West doesn't see those dollars, look at the condition of the highways throughout the province, at one time Alberta had the nicest and best ranked highways in Canada.
Seems all that money goes to the bleeding hearts East and extra curricular activity funding of our illustrious government.

I was hauling a wide load on there once had a guy pass me and about 8 others in a construction zone double solid no shoulder cause they cut it out with a four foot drop ... the guy made it but on the inside I was hoping to see him in the ditch upside down ... the oil companies need to make it an Unwritten rule that ppl get fired if caught speeding excessively on that hwy and endangering other ppls live
