OK this post went for a crapper.Lets try and stay on topic
Ticket is a pink one.Kid is 22 and was driving my truck down a fairly steep decent with the TT on and riding the exhaust break doing approx 80kmh. I know because i looked at the speedometer. There were 4 cop cars and once they pulled us over they quickly nabbed 4 others.Yes a speed trap as the speed changes there on a steep down hill grade. We don't have an issue paying but do have an issue wasting time to appear. My wife works an a very large lawyers office i'll let her deal with it.I thought I might get some advice on here about voluntary payment asw opossed to apperance as from my understanding if you appera the cop also has to show up in a dispute otherwise its thrown out.

fyi police rarely fail to appear, contact the crown office and see what can be done.

I haven't read over most of the threads, but I was under the impression that 40-50km over the speed limit was an auto court appearance. So unless you were over that,.. it's just a pay fine OR you will have to go to court after due date.

My ticket last month I was 30km over and stated a court date or pay by the court date.

It's 50 over mandatory court appearance because I know someone who just got one.....

found out, u can claim not guilty, go to court see crown lawyer, they will change ticket to vehicle infraction, you still pay the fine but no points.

Funny when I was younger I never got pulled over for no reason. Yes I got hassled more when I was pulled over sometimes, and driving a flashy vehicle you are the one picked out of a group, but still was speeding or whatever. But anytime I was pulled over they always had a good reason. Haven't been pulled over in a long time though. I wonder why?

Obviously some cops are not honest, like they will tag your speed before a sign where the limit drops so your ticket is higher, but almost guaranteed you were still speeding.

The ticket for 50 over doesn't even have a price on it. Wonder how it works?

I don't agree with that because I'm a younger kid and I usually get harrased up the ass when I get pulled over some cops need to be put in there place being young should have no affect on the way we should be treated so to your answer he deserved the ticket but the cop was still a dick, I have been pulled over 6 times because of the vehicles I drive (there my fathers) because they see a younger kid driving them they come up with some bullch!t excuse why they pulled you over , and everytime I get pulled over and I no I didn't do something wrong I tell the cop you can have your seperior come right the ticket just to make them explain the stupid reason they pulled me over, some cops are good guys most are jerkoffs that think there better then you because you don't have a gun an a badge.

You've gotta understand, we were all pulled over in the same manner when WE were younger....nothing has changed here.....get used to it......

contact the crown prosecutors office and ask is all i can suggest.

Don't know, it's my brothers ticket not mine. He just plans to fight it, and hope he doesn't loose his license.

Ok sorry for the bad grammar didnt know this was a university forum, hope he does pay the ticket with his own money, but if this post was posted by a older guy in his sports car there would be a different responses.
And I have respect for what officers do and there career choices but not for the way they be little people.

Ummm.....No...That's not the way it works....only YOUR perception....

contact crown way before court date, they will usually change your ticket, if you ask, easier to get the money instead of seeing the judge. i ran into a pair in the court house who do this all the time, you have absolutely nothing to lose. u pay the same fine only no points. plus you want the court disclosure before court date. in case ya want to fight.

I'm a younger person, and have NEVER had any problems with the RCMP. Show some respect and they will return it. Been stopped and pulled over a couple of times, but showed respect, called them sir and mam.

Yup always have to show respect and be as nice as possible, because next time they see you chances are they will remember you as the respectful nice guy and they will treat you the same way.

Doesn't work like that all the time..... Had two now in my time that being polite to them threw them into some sort of blood boiling rage. The one was literally to the point of frothing at the mouth..... And no I had no condescending tone or being an ass. I think it was the fact they came to the window with attitude and try as they might couldn't get a rise out of me. Now I had to hold back from dooring the one little prick into the front of highway tractor but I did it. I mean he let the car doing in excess of 130 km/hr go to pull me over about window tint and all too.... No priors either. But new ( at the time) SRT8 Charger or ratty older Honda Civic..... I guess my window tint was more of a problem for him that day. He was sitting shooting radar ( I have a detector) so he knew how fast the Honda was going. I just won the loser cop lottery that day. It happens.

You can't win all the time with them. And I find with the low paygrade they don't exactly attract real top notch citizens all the time either.......

Ya I was respectful intill they started telling me how my car was stollen or I was doing drugs or I was drunk, funny thing is everytime I got pulled over for rediculous things and they gave me grief and I told them how I felt about the reason I was pulled over and how you don't need to accuse me of something that is not true, they came back with my licence and insurance handed it to me then left not once have I received a ticket for one of the rediculous things I got pulled over for so yes be respectful to cops but I do not back down when they are disrespectful to me, a person is a person it doesn't matter if your a homeless man/women or the CEO of apple everyone deserves respect intill you have reason not to respect them.

the judge tells you how much it's gonna cost you, thats why it's a court appearance instead of a violation ticket. got one of those "back in the day" and it was NOT cheap. about a $1000 fine, lost the licence for 2 or 3 months & had to do a defensive driving coarse.
