No, but mine has lost a small patch of the Molykote before I caught the intake 100%.

Just checked my sons 2018....it has the exact same gaps on both left and right air intakes. Taping it for now till Cat has replacements.

Hey don't forget to pull that upper shroud off and seal up infront of the boot.

Not all them are like that, mine dont have that gap there, at least not like that, maybe could slide a piece of paper in mine

Some guys on Snow West claim Cat has a fix/update to fix this.

I haven’t had a chance to take it apart to look, but when I had my sled in to Ralph’s for a service and check over, one of the items they did for warranty was to apply a ‘fix’ to close up the gaps.

I commented on that post And the one guy that said there was a fix hasn’t elaborated orreplied so id take that with a grain of salt. Nobody else has heard of this. Youdthink after replacing how many motors because of this they would come up withsomething. Maybe borrow some glue from the poo guys?

This is the only real solution to the problem, stops the water and snow from entering the throttle bodies, it works 100%. You will never stop water from entering the air intake track, A/C poor attention to fitment is the #1 problem.
I've done a couple now and they were out all season last year and no longer having this issue, tried and tested. Easy fix.

I have used silicone up top to seal off all the gaps.
But that looks like a good idea as well, if it cant get through there it shouldn't be a problem.
What is the material you used there?
Is that RTV sealant?

Its bulk prefilter material, you can get it from SLP. I cut it about 1" larger then the required size of the hole and spray 3M glue on the inside lip. Then i slip the material into place and let it set for a bit. Then i run a bead of "The right stuff" silicon around the edge to give it that final seal. The right stuff is not effected by fuel and won't deteriorate.
It 100% stop's water from going any further.

This is an awesome idea. Thanks for the post Lund. I've got a couple unused vents with the pre-filter sitting in the shop. Do you think a marine epoxy / adhevise would work here too? I have some of that 3M stuff from Canadian tire that I use to seal the swim platform of my boat but not sure how it will work if it gets exposed to heat

you do realize that if some chunks fall off into reeds and the engine happens to fail there is a really good chance they will blame the engine failure on that. i would be very cautious about doing such a mod, risk vs reward. i for one will be just taping up the gap on the intake by the handlebars.
