Air bag pressure for 1 ton trucks(only please)

That is a big camper. I mounted my fitting through the license plate as well but I can fill or deflate them when loaded...As long as my compressor will reach lol. I can do it fine at home but on the road might be more difficult.

The 12 volt booster/compressor works great. Carry one for camping and its easy to add air to the bags

I have one that I was carrying around in the sxs, then the truck. I went to use it when I picked up my toy hauler and it didn't work. I have to see if I can fix it this weekend, or go buy another one.

I have some plastic ammo cases I am going to start using. I just threw it in the bag with the rest of the stuff and doing that just destroyed so much of it. The cases can be packed so nothing moves and should keep out all the mud and water. I am hoping I can save this compressor. Got it from Habour Freight during one of my US trips. Wish I had gotten a few of them for that price.

Perks of the ranger, under the seat I carry the compressor, shovel, chainsaw with gas and oil, tow ropes and usually a blanket in case the Mrs or kids get cold, tire plug kit and a small axe. Box gets the cooler and whatever else needs to be carried that day, inflatable boat extra gas cans or wood. Even pack a old Dodge rear end a couple years back during the derby. SxS is one of the best farm family tools out there.

Back to the original post if you don't have a built in compressor in the truck you can get a good 12v one from crappy tire. Ours has a secondary tube for inflatables like water toys

Looks good Pipes. Nice and level (maybe a touch low in the front - hard to tell by a picture - but looks like it would tow well without airbag assist. I used to get a little buck from time to time with my fiver on a 1 ton longbox crewcab dually but now I never seem to get that with a short box Ram 3500.

For both trucks the trailer was perfectly level. The dually didn't have any springs though as the entire rear suspension was replaced with a kit that used the airbags from a kenworth truck and was equipped with auto levellers. If I had kept that truck, I was going to add a couple more shocks to put a bit more control on the rear suspension.

Princes Auto jockey air tank.
Peter built or kenworth levelling valve.
2 air bag adjustable valves for each bag if separate.
120 lb 12 volt compossor.
Adjustable Tank kick senior from 20 too 120 psi.
We set kick out at 100, comes on at 20 too 25 psi when tank needs air.

Wire in when key is in run mode.
Extra kill switch for the just in-case.

Compressor under hood or in back tool box, tank on frame under box.
Run bigger guage wires to compossor so it has good power.

Frugal set up is ruffly $100,,, all new is $250 ish.

Follow the big truck plumbing plan, and protector sheaths to prevent wire and air line scuffing.

PS: back up is a tap too isolate bags only with filler valves incase the system goes down.

Canadian Tire frugal compressor can get you by in a pinch

My 08 3500 SRW was levelled, so it took 90 psi to bring it back when pinned up to our 16,500lb 5er. Pin weight was 3k.

So friday was the first time using the bags. I started with 40psi. This actually got it close to unloaded ride height. I drove to work and it was better but felt like a marshmallow. Too soft. I bumped it up at work to 70psi and ran out to the hills and back this weekend. Was way better but the roads were pretty bad in some places so next time I am bring it to 80 or 85psi to try out. Should be about perfect.

I think some should be adding a extra leaf if you need 80 psi.
Then use the bags to help out .

I don't "need" 80psi but the truck rides better with more pressure. Add in an extra leaf then you will lose the unloaded ride which is great and kinda misses the point of having air bags.

Try almost 100 and you'll find that too much air makes it very bouncy. I like to have the rear just lifted off the corners of the lower overleaf springs, and pressure all depends on where we're going and how heavy we are, so there's no set number. I also added a set of Load Hogs and they really help without my truck riding like a Ford when empty . It also helps when the Ranchos are set to full soft, nice and squishy when empty, set to 9 when loaded and rides nice and tight. I looked at a compressor, but find 2 lines to 2 bags helps with side to side sway, one compressor and that won't be the case, 2 compressors and I won't have enough money for gas.
