I see an electric starter on FS's sled also. Just sayin!

Yes, hotshot; 08XPX800ES154. The ES stands for electric start. You've got a good pair of eyes!

I'm an old fart and that is the best option since sliced bread. Also, being that old fart, I don't seem to abuse a machine like some of the younger generation.

That machine still rocks!

I have had mine only on S&M and DooTalk. Will get serious again in the fall.

That trade sounds interesting but an 08 with a blown motor?

I like that....."never been smoked in!!!!"

Mine has a Muff-Pot (included) and sometimes that gets a little hot and creates smoke but that's a very "professional smoke" with garlic, onions, spices and such!

Compression both sides at 125#, crank run-out, PTP side, 0.004", JC Custom venting, Ralph's Split Second Performance shaved head, SLP vents in airbox, skid protector, 441 ramps which are awesome for torque, 1 mm-over rollers, gerry can full of purple premium, short or big windshield, BRP's special instrument package with altimeter, etc., heavy duty rear bumper and special LED taillight, all updates done and not a belt eater.

Very well maintained and for the last year it was wife driven. Just over 3000 miles, all in mountain powder! At $6800, I'll deliver to Edmonton.

Touche......
with a runout of .004 that is past the brp spec and with 3000 miles on the motor it is over due for a rebuild just saying

Well now, here's something for you to read....

2010 Crank Runout spec now .004 ???! - DOOTalk Forums

Most replacement cranks won't even make the 0.004" run-out with a new short block.

IMHO, the 800 ptec should last a lot longer than 3000 miles if one looks after it. Decent warm-up, respectable starts, no WOT all day, etc. Cold starts and "to the bar" take-offs are motor killers.

I've been driving sleds for over 40 years (all of them were purchased new, 2-strokes with a lot of miles on them. During the 40+ years, I bought one rental and had to replace the motor in that one.....I wonder why?).

In support of the belief you and many others hold, the price is lower because of the high miles but I'm confident that this sled will still go another 3000 miles (before a motor job) with the right rider!

Ralph @ Split Second told me he has received more than one new crank from BRP that was out of spec, he has tried to true them without success and sends them back. I made the dealer check the runout on my new shortblock BEFORE I took it out of their shop because of the stories I have heard of them being out right from new....runout was .0011
