I think the sad part here is that yes a lot of peeps are painting all natives with the same brush. I know some really GREAT native families but even the natives i know, believe that the reserve system is faulted and that everyone would be better with out it. The best motivation for one to succeed is knowing that you have nothing else to fall back on or blame.

my cousin was a sheriff at blood tribe reserve. He is from Saskatoon he explained that it 100% does not make it right what those Saskatoon cops did. but when you arrest a guy for doing the same thing everyday and nothing changes and he continues to do it you may go a little berserk and that was what happened.

my cousin seen it all at blood tribe, a car ran over a guys head that was sleeping on the edge of the road, they slashed a guy open and defecated in him.

Near fort a la corn my grandpas (deceased) farm has had near everything stolen from it. they dump garbage off in the yard. one day my uncle went into the yard and a guy came out of the house. he broke in a slept in there and turned the oven on and elements on for warmth and burnt his arm falling on the oven drunk.

any reserve i was in had garbage everywhere, thrashed vehicles, horse ch!t all over the yard, dogs locked in the basement and ch!t and piss everywhere, it was insane! and you say your about the environment and animals, its just a plucking lie.

and my friends a fire fighter, guess when the most amount of forest fires in sask happen??? near fair time. So they get bussed into town and get free charge cards and fill up the hotels and go to the fairs. Guess when also the largest amount of garage and shed B and Es happen in prince albert? around the fall when the fair is in town. Kids bikes and toys get stolen constantly.

Read that as you want think im racist if you want. I have friends that are native and hate the natives i have described above.

Its not racist at all. I drive through a rez or go to the one i belong to. And it pisses me off how alot of them treat their property or how it looks but i also see the ones that look after their place and yard.

brown,black,yellow if you're a burden on society it should be handled quick/clean and never come up again.If the aboriginals wanted self Gov't i say hand it off to them/they can't expect money from "whitey"(we didn't spend this much money re-building "nazi"/vietnam or any other country after war).They sure as all hell can't create a more crooked gov't than whitey.

No they dont it belongs to the band. As for the land even though the band owns it, most famiies will chose to stick to the same piece of land.

That seems like the issue. Why take pride in ownership, if you don't own what you are living in?

Then again, I respect the house I'm currently renting, so maybe there is more to it.

Reading this morning, they are warning of massive blockades if they do not get their way. If they block my path to work, they will never have my support. Effecting the average Canadians' lives is only going to discredit their cause and cause the people paying their bills to really get pissed.

Just my opinion.

OMG this news makes me sick. I knew the environmentalists were harming and standing in the way of progress in the oil & gas industry in Canada but I had no idea they were funneling millions to the Indian Bands to help do their dirty work. Time for the government to pull it's head out of the sand and do something.

So they spend all day protesting kind of like the homeless protesting in Calgary if they would put a effort into there lives there would be no one to protest, because they would be a benefit to society and be at a job. Let the native chief starve then she can feel like the animals on the reserve that don't get food, water ,or shelter. Natives should have nothing more then what your low income family has or be homeless just like the white man would be if he never worked or did anything with his life, maybe that would make them a productive person in society actually working for something. THAT WOULD BE A NEW CONCEPT TO MOST OF THEM. NATIVES SHOULD ALSO NOT BE ALLOWED TO OWN ANIMALS!!!!!!!

Thats a pretty broad statement posted in 2 diferent threads now... I know many native people and families who positively contribute to society and also own pets. they are not the ones protesting because they have to be at work. By the same token I know many people of all ethnicities who sponge off of and drain the system.....

How about anyone collecting government support (our money) should not have pets because if they can't affort to look after themselves they can't affort to properly care for a pet, or 7 children for that matter. Common sense is lost in todays age, it's not just a native problem....

-Welfare recipients should have to undergo drug testing including nicotine, why should my tax dollars pay for a $300+/month habit???
-Native reserves in the far north where sustainability is an imposibility (attawapiskat) should become unfunded, no industry no funding, it's a wasteland. Many reserves are like this, there is no opportunity for residents to better themselves, so they don't....
-Natives want to hunt/fish year round with no limits like thier ancestors, use the same tools as thier ancestors....by the same token my grandfather was legally able to drive without insurance & seatbelts while having a beer, smoke in movie theaters, airplanes and spank his children.... I want my ancestory rights!!!!

You know what guys if the Canadian Government is pouring billions and the Canadian corporations are pouring multi millions and the United States billionaires are pouring multi millions into the Canadian Indian bands and the Indians are protesting for more because they have poverty then maybe it's time the tax payers demand an audit on the Canadian government. Where in the hell is all that money going? Something just reeks about this whole issue.
