A GREAT weekend of Roopin'!!

It was an AWESOME weekend in the East Kootenays (Cranbrook/Kimberley) Area!! Came across a monster slide deposit (class 4 AVY) that came down on the Friday. It ran peak to valley bottom and tore out right to ground at higher elevations.

Yes...always cross run-outs one at a time. It's always good for at least the first and last person in the group to have radios too...and to have a person keeping an eye on the slide path from a safe location.

We found serious hoar on both days...quite a bit worse on the Sunday up Lumberton though. The sun broke down the hoar quite a bit, but I'm sure there will be a sun crust in its place in areas. Very interesting snow pack in the Kootenay Boundary this year.
