97 indy xlt suspension in an 89 trail?

Is this possible.

came across a blown up 97 indy xlt. I have an 89 trail that I would like some fresh suspension in.

I think I can swap the rear skid no prob. But can I use the front suspension- and get some more travel from the 97 on the 89?
