96 yz 125

i have found a 1996 Yamaha YZ 125 it has low compershin for $700 i realize i will have to get a new piston for it as well at have the cylinder honed and nickeciled these are some pics of it is it worth getting into?

you are probably going to have to do the bottom end has well. By the look of it this bike is in rough shape. Small displacement engine like the 125 required a lot more maintenance (you should do the ring every 25 hrs and the bottom after 75 hrs. How are the tire and the and linkage? Did you know that the linkage cost more money to rebuilt then the top end!! I bought a 2005 yz125 last year with a seize engine for $1500 It cost me $1800 to put it back to shape, I didn't have to change cylinder (it is often cheaper on a125 to just change the cylinder) I also bought a 2006 crf 150f in great shape for $2200...So you do the math!


P.s.: yz 125 are a lots of fun!
