looking for some help, I have a 600 grizzly and cant get a spark, have changed the stator, source coil, pulsar coil and ignition coil, no luck. the quad was in bits when I got it, there was a lot of damage and bits missing, namely the kill switch, where should it be ? could my problem be the cdi or rectifier?

I recently had the same issue with a 300 Honda and it ended up being the cdi module.

not to be a smart ass,but is the kill switch in the off position
or may be the spark plug wire is broken and you just can't see the brake
good luck

If I am not mistaken, the kill switch completes the circuit for the ignition system. Need it or cross some wires to send power to cdi.

My '98 600 grizz had the cdi unit go bad, and wouldn't allow it to run ...... Also, the kill switch must be working and functioning properly in order for the 600 grizz to run

My 600 grizzly gas nothing. When I guy the start button nothing happens but cuts out all power and lights till I shut key off and wait a few minutes then turn back on have power till guy the start button again. Everything worked till I put a trickle charger on it over winter went to start and now that happens. Havnt dug to far into it but keep us posted on what you find.

if you still haven't found the probem, I think you will weed a wiring diagram (manual)for your quad. It's alot of work but if you don't do it. Where ever you take it into; to get it fixed, they will have to do it, at a big cost to you. Sorry not much help here good luck, don't give up yet. Ask for a wiring maual. Some one may have one or no where to get what you need

could someone post a pic of a complete 600 grizzly showing the kill switch location, as I say above. lots of bits were missing and quite a few stray wires I still have to figure out, some pics would be helpful for me to get everything in right location.

I would post you pics of mine, but it's under wraps and in a 6 foot snowdrift right now..... If you haven't figured it out by early spring, or the snow melts more here, i'll dig it out and take some pics for you....... Hopefully someone else can help you out more.......

if you can't get any pics go to a yamaha dealer and look at the machines on the floor and take notes. They may even give you a wire diagram for you unit free.
