3.5 eco tows anything that you would reasonably tow with a 1/2T but it's a bit thirsty doing it. Still much cheaper to buy and own than an HD diesel though so I can easily overlook the shortcomings. Mine doesn't get great empty mileage but it's leveled with 10ply tires and my wife drives it up and down the hill to downtown all the time and has a sled deck on 6 or 7 months a year. I would love to try one with the new 10spd trans. Had mine for 5 years only needed brakes, an upper balljoint and a valve cover gasket in 165k km.

I have had a few friends who have had an eco boost and they either had to replace a motor or turbo before 100,000 km. They all towed a fair bit but nothing crazy. They all liked them until they had issues though. Longevity doesnt seem to be very common with them. They all have since went with a 6.2 ford or went up to a diesel

That’s old school thinking. There is a replacement it’s forced air induction. But that being said I think a big motor will last longer then a small boosted motor.

At work two guys have the. One replaced turbos then a motor, other guy a motor. Both like the truck but had issues. Not sure the years of them. I think the ones in the aluminum body are better.
