Lmao! Ya there's better ways to give your grandkids there inheritance other than over a pissing match at a 4H sale. Same thing happened here years ago and both bidders pretty much got boo'd out of the building.

The money goes to the kids. The kids are taught to run it like a business. They need to pay for there calf, feed, supplies, suppliments and they save a portion of it for buying next years calf and maybe some savings. The Grand Champion and Reserve champion calves are expected to get a preimium at the sale but once it turns into chit show and someone pays 82k for a 1300lb steer, its not really sending a good message to our youth... IMO. Our club champ went for around $5.25/lb our kids calves sold for around $3.50/lb
