30 foot Class A or Class C?

Neither because if you have to leave where you are parked you have to pack up everything to go, unless you pull a commuter behind or have a second vehicle.

I looked at everything and went with the class a. Way more room and more comfortable to drive then the c. That was back when I had a 1/2t. So to get into a toy hauler I would have had to buy a truck too. If I was to do it today I would buy a 5th wheel toy hauler. Can get a really nice one for the price of an older motorhome and I like the power of my truck over the motorhome. My motorhome still hauls pretty good with the enclosed trailer behind it.

We had the big toy hauler and theres not enough room for the toys in it. Had the pull behind and it never got used. So thinking about the motorhome style so that we can pull a trailer with the toys and not have to take 2 vehicles or make 2 trips out west.

This is a topic me and my wife beat to death! unfortunatly there is no perfect answer when it comes to RV'ing. We had a 24' fifth wheel that we B'trained behind, it worked well but could never go to BC with the boat or the quads unless we wanted to bring 2 vehicles, so we went to a 45' toy hauler. I loved that thing, when quading we would haul our toys and away we would go, when going to the lake load all the kids toys and junk in the toy part and rock and roll. But we are in the same position no with the family growing and more quads and bikes they dont fit in the toy hauler. So we purchased a Class "A" we looked hard at the Class "C" but they are missing alot of the luxery features of the class "a" and none of them have any counter space. Driving wise I really like the Class a for parking way easier to park then class c, Mirrors on class a are better as well. but the big seller was automatic hydraulic levelers (I know I'm lazy) if the budget allows it I would def go class a

We were in the same boat as Wild1...I had a new 1/2 ton and the wife wanted a larger RV. So it was spend XX dollars for a new trailer and XX dollars for a new diesel truck....OR get a moho and use the sled trailer for toys.

Anyways we are on our 3rd Class A now with no regrets. There's no more ditch-bangin' 4x4in' to get into the camp spots out west like you can get away with a pull-behind, plus I limit my gravel travel to a few Km at most, but we love it. When we "pavement camp"...Fairmont, USA shopping, etc...we drag a Toad behind so we have wheels.

30' Class A's are kind of hard to find...unless you go a few years older. Most of the new shorter ones start at 32'. There are lots of deals on Class C's. Go tour a few and see what you think. FYI for new gasser Class A's you can only get the Ford chassis right now as Workhorse (GM) stopped using the 8.1. I had 2 Workhorse and now a Ford chassis. I've never been a Ford guy, but the v10 is every bit as smooth and as nice as any Workhorse I've driven.

On used Workhorse chassis rigs, make sure there has been a recall on the brakes done....this affected MOST of the W20 and W22 (I think) chassis made for many years....the Bosch brake calipers would hang up and cause a fire.

We looked at a unit like this at Woody's in Calgary a couple years back. It had a gas engine but diesels are available for alot more money. I found the floor plan cramping for our family of five. I haven't seen many around as of late and might be a by order unit only. I've never seen a hauler in a class C chassi but anything is possible if you go custom build. The unit pictured is 37' 4"

saw a few of them on the highway the last few years, becoming more and more prominent for sure.....

Personally, I think it takes away from the luxury of the Class A by having the moveable bed in the gas/oil/mud garage area...but that's me...

No pics I can see of the inside. I know those ones they were/are selling in nisku had a separate garage. The door to the garage was through the bedroom. It was set up well.

The Damon (Thor) Outlaws all have the bedroom above the garage...kinda neat if you like crawling to bed. The Newmar Canyon Star 3920 has a separate bedroom...but you will pay a lot more for a Newmar. Like I said....it's whatever people prefer. I'd rather keep my toys in their own stinky trailer and keep the moho for walking around in socks

I bought a brand new tiffin allegro last year, custom order class a....yada yada...had the dealer convince me that a v10 would be plenty for what I wanna do...haul my boat to bc.

Well....had I known the difference i would have a diesel pusher in the backyard right now.

My point is this, we went back and tried to get a diesel and were quoted an additional 600.00 a month to move up....I ch!t a brick!!!

You have one chance to get what you want...get it all and then some with a class a...and get a diesel engine....

Must be a good sized rig. My little 32 towed the ol Suzuki Toad to Fairmont and back with no issues...even passed a couple of big pushers on some of those long climbs! I had a 8.1 with Allison in my last rig and the Turd v10 seems just as good. But I guess once you get to a certain weight, a big diesel pusher would be the way to go. (lots more bucks tho eh)

Have you looked at 5 Star programmers? Supposed to really help the v10 Turds.

Wife and I same problem every year with trailers, quads, and boat ended up with a fifth wheel for the last one and pulling second trailer behind. We looked at class c and class A for years but neither worked for what we do. So after pulling our crap all over Alberta we got smart and bought a lake lot last August now we have the best of all worlds. Lake for the boat, trails for miles and everything sits no more hauling toys and fighting for a spot every weekend. If anything go with the class A you can get a really nice diesel pusher out of the states starting at 30,000 and up look on cranky ape .com great used units

I would prefer diesel pusher too. A lot quieter to drive and more power. My 454 does ok but I wish it had the power and economy of my cummins.
