Anyone tell me what kind of L/100 getting on the 2010-2011 chev 2500HD 6.0L 6 speed trans, city/hyw? Will the new trans make it better fuel economy ? What it gets pulling enclosed trailer?

A cold air intake, cat back exhaust and chip can bring around the unloaded fuel economy (~$1600 investment). However, in my opinion, the 6.0L isn't a good towing motor as it makes all its power over 4000rpm, which is where it will be the whole way west pulling an enclosed. If you're towing with any regualrity do yourself a favor and get a diesel. I just recently made the change and haven't regretted it one bit.

Unloaded you can expect to get 450-550km on a 130L tank depending on your driving style. Loaded maybe 400km.

I have had my 2010 6.0L CC since May 1st and i consistantly get 18-19mpg unloaded driving 110km/h and also doing the math at the pumps. When i'm working its gets 16mpg I can easily get 550-600km on 90L. I do have the 3.73 gears as i only tow a small 19" travel tailer and a quad in the box. It has lots of power for what i use it for. I am hoping to put exhaust, intake and programer in it soon.

If i was you what i'd do is put a hyperterch programmer in it and a cold air intake and an exhaust on it and you' be amazed at what you get for milage. A very good freind of mine has the same truck and what i listed is what he did to it and he gets 1000+km/tank of fuel. And it dont matter if he's empty or loaded.

I have a '03 chev 6.0l 2500 and it gets about 15-16mpg. It doesn't seem to matter if it's loaded down with a trailer or not. It just stays about the same. Mine has the 100litre tank and i can get around 550km/tank. I'm not very easy on the pedal though. It spends most time at 120 and when i want to pass some one it simply goes to the floor. So that doesn't help my milage.

I have an 08 H.D. 6.0 L ,,4.10's and the 6 speed.
Stock about 16mpg empty,
With K&N cold air intake, dual catback gibson exhaust, and Bully Dog Programmer, get 20.5MPG empty.
Pulling the Travel Trailer(5000lbs) through past revy averaged about 10.5 MPG,
It has lots of power ,pulls in 5th at 110 easy..
Hope this helps

Empty About 600 km to a tank (98) L i believe,
Golden to Airdire used 3/4 of a tank with the 5000lb trailer on behind.

I own a 06 GMC 1500HD with a 6.0L. It doesn't get great mileage but it is the best gas motor (for power) I've ever owned. It pulls my trailers without any real issues but sucks fuel pretty good. My last truck was a loaded 05 Avalanche (5.3 motor) with tow pack (tranny cooler and 4.10 gears) and my GMC beats this hands down and my new truck has 3.73 gearing too.
Is there any difference between my year of motor and the new ones (2010 and up) ??? Did they(GM) do anything to the new motors for power or economy ?? I know they have a better tranny but is that it ???
I really like my 1500HD just wish I too could get better mileage. I know it's not a economy vehicle but would like it better if it wasn't so hard on fuel !!

Are you happy with all your mods ??? Or would you do something different ?? Intake? Exhaust? Programmer?
I would like to be able to get that kind of mileage you get or better !!! LOL

oh ya ,,it is much better on fuel ,and pulls better. The air intake was the biggest difference.I would like it a little quieter though..it is a little louder in the cab than i like but it is 4'' pipe as well,,

That's excellent milage IMO, my 2000 6.0L runs around 12mpg loaded and 14mpg or so empty. Dead stock with 4:10 gears, although mine isn't the HD so I only have a 95L tank I get 400-450km out of a tank loaded and 450-500km empty. I also have a lead foot which doesn't help.

That's some truly amazing mileage!
There's a ~2000ft Elevation gain spread out over 200km!

I have a difficult time believing that going by what everyone else including myself have had as experiences with the 6.0l. The best mileage I ever got with my 2008 6.0l 1500 4x4 with a Hypertech Economy Chip, K&N Intake, & toneau cover was 20.95 MPG, downhill from Calgary to Saskatchewan (with a tail wind!).
