The bands are run like governments the Chiefs and their families will do well but the average folks on the res will get very little. 90 % of the money will end up with 10% of the people. This country has been giving Billions upon Billions of dollars to the bands with no return, giving them more money isn't going to fix anything. History says it will make things worse. Money is not the answer but it is the easy temporary problem solver in the governments eyes. You can't print enough money to fix these problems and with the current government the problems are not repairable. Went to a concert at the Grey Eagle Casino in Calgary. Owned by the natives. Was supposed to be a source of employment for people on the reserve. I was shocked at who the work force was made up of when we went. Looked like 1% Indigenous, 35% white and the rest were East Indians? Wrong Indians lol.

Was talking with a family friend who has a couple native foster kids who's grand parents were in residential school. They now receive around $2000 a month each. Apparently all descendants of residential schools now get monthly payments.
