It’s already pulling 45. Rpm are low 2-300. Your G5 turbo is slow at 52 mph. Maybe get Benny to help you with clutching.


Watch any Muskoka video is 80-85kmh in a steep climb prior to a wheelie that’s with a 160lb rider. Mine is going fine. I ran bennys clutching in a cat and took it out after a weekend

Stock winder was 55ishmph. This 858 will be no where near a stock winder in terms of track speed. Na 800 in deep steep pull such as turbo hill will be lucky to hit 40-42mph.

Yes, completely agree with those numbers in general.
It takes a lot of ponies to gain track speed and dealers, aftermarket guys seldom have excess to dynos so they wing it through experience or feed back, or sell you kits that are put together through chart info. So sometimes its a hit and miss.
To properly clutch a sled, you need to know the torque curve or its a guess.
My SW was dynode locally, which is important for accuracy, at 265hp and 210ft/torque, my track speed on average turns around 65-68mph, my over all ground speed on a lake is under 80mph. Thats with a solid 100hp more and around 75-80ft/lbs more then a T 2smoke.
For only a gain of 15-18mph track speed over a turbo 2smoke.
But that ONE mph makes a HUGE difference on a big pull in the deep, never mind a 15-18mph.

So with Cats ability to maintain good track speed in general, once they turbo that 858, Doo and Poo will have to push to a 900 to compete with the 858.

I agree. It takes big power to get 60-65mph on a fresh line on a hill like turbo hill. These guys are wishful thinking to think na 858 will do over 50mph on a hill like turbo. Won’t happen without some form of boost.

I think this 858 will have its first year issues like anything new, and there will definitely be room for clutching improvements. The new chassis is being reported as a winner so that is good news......the only miss I see so far is no twin rail skid option for mountain riders. The monorail skid isn't for everyone.

What’s a repair bill on a turbo and engine compared to N/A sled? When the warranty is gone no one wants a used 2 stroke turbo. The catalyst will have a much higher resale value potentially. If it’s not a turd. lol.
