Where is this St. Mary’s? I’m looking for a day trip on the 20th. So would like to check out some newer areas…and don’t worry I ride one day a year if that so I won’t be pounding out any secret spots. Lol

Looks more and more likely we will be heading to Fernie. I’ll update once we get thru tonight, and hopefully see more snow.

Well. Ya lol. Ski hill. I dunno fernie might just be the place to go for the next couple weeks. No snow north. Revy didn’t get that dump that fernie got. I can’t believe I’m saying that lol. We are planning a trip that was to mcbride next week. Thoughts??

Here's some good advise.... Don't believe the fernie ski report. That's my advise . take it for what's it's worth

My sources that live at the ski hill say they got "quite" a bit of rain. Our sleds are staying inside.

Looks like a group (4/6) are heading out tomorrow, I'll update what the conditions are when I get back. It's only an hour trip for us.

Bowls might be out, so it could be trails and some ditch banging, but we will see when we get there. I am not one to risk breaking stuff, so I tend to err on the side of caution

Must of been a few sledders out as I sure saw lots of trucks with sleds in them coming into BC on highway 3 as I was icefishing on Summit lake.

We changed plans today. Went off in the mountains behind Bull River. Absolutely epic. At 5’8 the snow was chest high. 3 feet of pow on top then a good 1” of crust. The rest was fluffy underneath with just an inch or 2 of base. After the Revy reports. Fernie. Elkford etc we decided this was the route to go, and we were not disappointed at all.
Yeah you had to work for it, 10k trail ride in was a little thin and bony, but for early season riding, you have to go where the snow is. It’s not going to come to you.

Great day though. Light got REALLY flat and amber lenses were De Riguer for the rest of the afternoon. Changed goggs 3x and went home happy as a pig in sh.t

Highly recommended. What a great day.

Man, I can't get over what a great ride that was today. I am so stoked!!!! Best early season conditions I have ridden in for the past 3 years. But Revy, 200 sledders can bang out those zones in 2 days, sometimes you need to go to the lesser travelled 'see and be seen' areas to find that good snow.

6 of us went and it was an absolute fun fest. some trail riding, ditch banging, pulled a couple chutes... careful near tree clusters as some were hollow near the bases, but man what a day.. yes yes yes yes!!!!!!

Elkford got groomed today so I guess things are looking up. Still need snow though. Lots of carnage for those that have ventured to far off the trail I’ve heard.

Was gonna maybe head over there with my son now. Cancelled mcbride. Any trails groomed? Anywhere we can at least get to some snow just to put some miles on. He’s 13. So probably not venturing to far

We were up there on Saturday and the total snowpack isn't terrible up top, but nothing has frozen so there's lots of open, running water. We had to cross quite a few streams going up the trail. And there's no base at all so yes, venturing off the trail is a bit sketchy still

Was out today and yes the snow pack is certainly low but we managed to have a good first day without any carnage . Max we probed was 85 CMS. Last year at beginning of December it was 120 cms

7s gauge is the ch!t. But dam. I can’t go Polaris cause I have very bad luck. I would need 15 belts and 150 spark plugs per season.
And that’s just the common stuff. I would also need to fix a hell of a lot of other ch!t that happens to nobody else but me lol.
