considering the extremely minimal changes from 2020.5 to 2021 your not going to see much. BRP had so much data to work with from 2020.5 machines and they are almost identical to the 2021.

So far it’s probably been one of the best launch’s to date .
See what happens through the season .

Did they eliminate the max rpm recording function on the 2021 screens I know the 2020.5 have it....I had to add a heavier/ longer bolt and weight washers to mine to keep off the rev limiter runs awesome now

Here’s my review 175

got 350km on mine now!
yes the pop is a rich backfire, it will go away. The sled does this cause you are braaaping the throttle a lot.
mine pulls 8200 then settles down to 8100rpm
fuel/oil consumption was ridiculous initially, it is settling out to normal
80km ++ track speeds
fit n finish could use some work in my opinion
short tunnel makes a noticeable difference
handlebar warmers seem weak at times
they changed to straight rails instead of tipped on the back
sled is balanced left to right, within 7lbs ski to ski!


this sled really needs nothing in tuning world I fell. I was thinking of dropping 1 gear tooth(top), still on the fence. If the rpms don’t come down a bit I will be looking for a slight weight increase in the clutch. Might look at some weight loss options, be nice to ditch 10-15lbs without increasing noise.

Sled is a complete ripper and 175’s can fly!

I noticed I just sucked a lot of fuel and more than 1/2 of the oil. but fun factor was there.

And I had to run out to the garage to check my rails as I had my Munster rail stiffeners to install but guess I have to get new ones, the 165 rails are straight.

Will be weighting my primary by changing the bolts to 38 mm bolts with a 1.1 gram washer and may update to Dynamo Joes kit.

And yes this sled just rips, first ride of the year my palms hurt by my thumb's from holding on. :bullrider:

that's a sign of old age...... time to get a touring sled.

the 20.5 we had for a weekend was out of break in and I purposely throttle chopped it over and over and over from full pin, could not make it pop.... tried to get it to two step lol...

Few engines went boom.
But if it was the turbos fault or not is TBD. The changes that come out in the next couple years will determine if it was dialed or not.
I heard the ones that went boom had something to do with the oil line coming off or getting pinched. I heard something to do with oil

The finger throttle really helps. Way easier to hold onto this beast, once the boost hits hard, it wants to rip out of your hands.

Funny you say that because that is the biggest beef of guys going back from the finger throttle to the thumb, the fact they can't hold on without the sore hands/arms. All the forces throw you backwards on acceleration and 4 fingers hold on better than 3.

After riding the demo 850t most of last year I snow checked one in a 165 X. So far I've Rode the big storm 4' of pow two weeks ago and rode the settled but decent snow last week. First impressions after 250km, 37% break in remaining, occasional over rev, will maybe need to add a hair more weight, easily fixed. Power already seems to be stronger than the demo even while in break in. Fuel/oil consumption was horrendous the first time out but last ride, 90km blue bird day at silent, I didn't even need my Jerry can and oil was just a bit more than buddies n/a 2019 850, snow wasn't crazy deep but lots of untouched requiring most of the flipper to navigate

if you knew the area. The new gauge is ok but the buttons don't work if it's too cold and you still can't see the damn thing. Over all I'm very happy with the sled, other than a few personal preference suspension tweaks and maybe some very minor fine tuning of the primary, it is truly a pull the rope and go factory turbo.

Had a chance to ride the 20.5, like they advertise just simply works. Smooth power and still the same bottom end of a stock 850 out of the hole. Only negative feedback I could give on it was the pencil thin handlebars. After riding my 18 850 with Cheetah bars they sure felt like less control/grip. Also had a chance to ride the new kaos 850/165, pretty disappointed. Hopefully it opens up after break in as it lacks Hp.

The first few tanks they will drink fuel and oil pretty hard.

Had a chance to ride the 20.5, like they advertise just simply works. Smooth power and still the same bottom end of a stock 850 out of the hole. Only negative feedback I could give on it was the pencil thin handlebars. After riding my 18 850 with Cheetah bars they sure felt like less control/grip. Also had a chance to ride the new kaos 850/165, pretty disappointed. Hopefully it opens up after break in as it lacks Hp.

Im completely blown away at how smooth and strong these things are for a factory sled with full warranty. Full disclosure, it was my first day of the season, I was bagged and had completely run out of what little talent I have on a sled. With that said, these G4 turbos feel super balanced with power and the chassis, I felt instantly at home on it. I hope to get some more seat time in deeper snow on one this season. Ski-Doo has a winner with the 850T, 100%.

Also "sututututu" turbo noises will make anyone smile, I don't care who you are and what you ride.

Huh interesting that they went to straight rails. You notice anything when you back up
