Was out with Chrisco and a couple other guys Saturday. Had a good day! Never took many pictures but got lots of videos. Why can’t we post videos?

He circled the island we were on probably 5 times lol there was another crew just upstream as well. nice to see guys out with the families and the kids LOVING the river valley as they should.

I've got river silt in my blood and my boy does too!

he fell asleep behind the wheel on the way into the city... went through some good chop at about 60 by the Henday bridge... he woke up quick and realizes he’s still driving!! He was sawing at the wheel and trying to get his bearings quick... look in his face was priceless!!

Overcompensating some would say...... LOL

We spend more time camping on the boat than in our trailer so I want to be sure the wife is comfortable, this one has heat, hot water, full bathroom with shower, full size bed and is completely weather proof.

So far I've noticed a few things, one motor runs hotter than the other 155-170F port and 170-185 starboard - going to release the rad caps when cool and see if there is any air there, another possibility is the the gauge is reading wrong because it does fluctuate up and down as the thermostat opens/closes - or could be 2 different thermostats, going to keep an eye on it and see if it's an issue, oil is clean and motors have been rebuilt with vortex heads & manifolds.

She does not shift nearly as smooth as my regal did (and the regal had a worn shift cable) she is quite clunky into/out of gear and going from forward to reverse. I figure I'll have the shift cables and linkages re-done after this season.

She is supposed to be a 47 mph boat but I haven't had her opened up yet, or even had her up on plane - added 125L of fresh fuel and 2 cans of seafoam to the existing treated 200L and will add another 50L on friday with another can of seafoam.

So far so good, she's a very comfortable boat.

She's got a 94 Gallon (356L) fuel tank and at 47 mph burns 36 gal/hr so there won't be much of that happening.

I think I got the running temperature issue solved, cracked the rad caps and fired them up for a few minutes before securing the caps back on and after 15 mins idle time both motors were steady at 170F, once I get her opened up at higher RPM's I'm guessing the increased water flow will bring them down to the 160F sweet spot.

Friends of ours from Beaverlodge did this a couple years ago. They bought a boat that had been used previously on the loop and sold it afterwards. They spent a year in total but that’s certainly not necessary , as long as weather cooperates he said you could comfortably do it in 4 ish months and enjoy all The aspects. Another factor Is. Mechanical failures or fuel access issues. They went offshore to the Bahamas for couple winter months and were held up for quite a while by weather before they could cross back to mainland to continue the loop. Was a pretty cool experience , especiallly going through all the locks, said it’s pretty intimidating. They had a ball .

I was conducting some sampling at a site due to a vehicle impact into a fence and seen/heard a boat having fun on the north Saskatchewan river east of the city. Looked like someone was having fun Nice day

I've never ventured east past the Beverly bridge but I hear there's great sturgeon fishing between Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan. should go for a good float one day and come out at Duvernay or something. boring wide river but a good float I'm sure.
