Cat is very familiar when it comes to sleds with big jugs...so it shouldn’t really be a surprise :)

This is very true, Cat was first to mingle in the BB twins and bring it to the production line successfully, while every others were stuck on smaller twins and triples.

You mean suzuki? Textron hasn't built ****.

are you comparing it to Textron not designing an engine? You're right, that was the Suzuki engines....

Kind of like OMC (Outboard Motor Corporation) designing the E_TEC, going into bankruptcy, then Evinrude / Bombardier buying the technology?

you see, it really doesn't matter the origins, its who was making use of it and I believe Lund was referring to Cat incorporating that tech into their sleds before anyone else

No. These guys are talking about suzuki big bore motors from 20 years ago that have zero to do with textrons new engine.

Not sure what that has to do with skidoo though.

Based on what Textron designs and builds for US army I am pretty sure that they can build a sled as good as the other flawed stuff out there.
LMAO
People are really trying to beat down what is coming...........

No again you missed the point. Clodes post sums up my point very well.

Could be the best thing ever, but they had nothing to do with the engines of year past.

Cat nip is making you guys stupid.

Here is Lund's post.....This is very true, Cat was first to mingle in the BB twins and bring it to the production line successfully, while every others were stuck on smaller twins and triples.

All he was mentioning was that Cat was 1st to play with big bore engines....I don't see Textron even mentioned....

And, read my post carefully....I'll try and dumb it down for you....lol
Yes, Cat did not design the earlier engines...it was Suzuki doing it for Cat
My point was....It does not matter who designed it...what matters is who used it and had success with it. Cat didn't build the engines ....(now this is where I think I lost you earlier) but neither did SkiDoo with the E-Tec. It was designed by a different company...but used by Bombardier.

Buying a company for it's tech and then having your engine division incorporate, manufacture and grow that technology is a lot different than buying motors from another manufacturer and putting them into your machine. Tigercat buys engines from Fiat, that doesn't mean they now know how to build their own motors. As far as Textron having an aerospace division so does Bombardier but that doesn't mean they can build a sled that doesn't eat belts anymore than textron is going to put a Bell turbine into a sled.

i dont even know how to respond to this thread LOL

would think your all chris burandts in here. cant sidehill a skidoo LMAO

Right? If you can't sidehill a G4 then quit running your mouth. And yes that means both ways. Right side too not just left lol

BRP does not have an aerospace division and Bombardier Inc. does not have a sled division.

Textron has both and more.
They pulled together tech when updating their SXS line and may do more out of the box thinking on the sleds than just the monorail.
I was looking forward to the turbine.

So who won this argument?
I'm not sure but normally I would say the only guys losing are those that are snowchecking. However, it seems like the manufacturers are finally offering some incentives to snowcheck again. Summit Expert, Alpha Cat, possibly an M9000 Riot Cat.

Sounds Iike a riot

I could be persuaded to snowcheck a new sled if it gets me into what I want rather than spending more after I get it but a fourth sled in four years makes me wonder if I will be happy with any of them lol
