You meant to say motor issues...
Every person I knew with an ‘07 XRS had to put several motors in their sled, and the ‘08’s durability was less than desirable.
Yes lots of motors in 2007 as well. Not that many in 2008 but a couple at our store. The 07's had case clearance issues. We put 3 short blocks in one guys sled alone until Rotax figured out the problem and we finally got some good parts.

and yet you're on a doo. not sure why sounds like you hate the thing..

I guess I dont have doolaid. Lol, they all have their issues.

It also helps to have a great dealer, biggest reason why I keep going back.
I looked at all three last year before I bought my G4.
I dont hate the sled, in-fact this sled is working its way to the best sled I’ve owned.

I wish doo would update the things that need updating. Instead of a floating clutch, they put a belt beeper on it so it seems, a secondary clutch setup thats been in the sled since 2012MY. Just saying.

Do you believe im wrong for talking about negative points about something I own?

I think polaris has a great snowcheck program.
I also think the Alpha is a great sled.

The beeper might not even be activated and it may be just a generic book for all the sleds. Just speculation right now that Makes for good conversation.

Hey maybe there will be a skidoo ambassador hug booth at the Edmonton sled show to help with all these unmanly feelings in here.

I didnt mean to sound overly negative about my sled, Dan. I really enjoy my G4 its been rock solid for me. I have owned bad year brp sleds in the past. So far this sled is not one of them.
I think the expert will save some money on the aftermarket parts I spent to build my sled.
I basically have a expert minus the new spindles and the short tunnel. I still believe doo is leaving lots on the table. Especially after I rode a Alpha.

they all leave stuff on the table though. where is my race shocks? where is my billet aluminum skid?
I've been so busy riding the last decade I never even knew the secondary was a problem.

guess that gives you guys a reason to haul a bbq and pit tent up the mountain haha

I know you like your sled, just giving you a hard time.
need all the doo support we can get around here these days.

I bought a G4 last year and just rode it...all year no issues. I hauled two stacker cans and a huge bag many days to get out back, I’m 275 geared up so it’s not like that sled wasn’t working. I finally had a belt start to come apart at 1800 Kms..otherwise zero issues. Set deflection now and again, kept an eye on things and it just worked all year. Went everywhere I wanted it to go and was one of the best years snowmobiling I’ve ever had. The year before I had a brand new Axys and a brand new Mountain Cat, I’m fully sold on the Ski Doo Summit X. All the doo accessories are dialed in, super easy and fit is bang on. I’ve owned a lot of sledsover the years, and it took me a long time to get near a Doo, but 2019 was the year and I have zero complaints. Every dealer has asked me what I think because I’ve always been neutral on my opinions. The Axys does it’s things well, so does the Cat but at the end of the day the little things like a goggle bag on the clutch and cooking lunch on the stock can between the cover and the can, SHOT and the LinQ system just make those miserable days better. Handling is way different than the other two but for me I’m 100% happy with my Summit X, zero plans to change.
