2019 Ski Doo 850 Skid wearing weird

Just was looking at my sled the other day and noticed the front left corner of skid is wearing down abit. The other side looks
like new still. Im just wondering what would cause this? Thanks for the info

Roll track around and check the clips as well . Could have one bent one .

Thats track alignment, tension, along with a track skew issue I have not been able to solve. For now im blaming it on crappy track stand, and slop in the bushings on the rear drop bracket. When you sled is on the ground, you can move the skid from side to side in the rear.

For as long as I remember the front of the rails by the drivers on doos run towards the exhaust side. Makes it a pain to align the track, and when you think you have the back square, look at the front.

BTW my 2021 and my 19 had that wear on the exact same rail cap, my 21 is not that bad.

The melted part or deformed part that you are seeing, I believe is from running the track too loose.

I had the same thing.

What happens is for whatever reason the track didn't stretch uniformly. When I took a string and measured the diameter on side was longer than the other.

I put sled on thr stand and then adjusted using the 15lbs and 1.5"sag as per spec. I didn't have the fancy track tension tool so I just used a 15 lb weight.

Once I had the tension set right then I adjusted so it ran true on the rails/sliders. I focused on making sure that there rear idlers ran free without contacting rubber nubs.

Went out and put a couple 100km on it and it stretched evenly now.
And doesn't seem to be eating my anti stab.

Look on the bottom of your sliders where the rail cap is damaged, I bet the edge of the track clip is eating the bottom of the slider.

Improper track alignment. Make sure both adjustment screws are equal then using weights or a fish weight thing pull down until it says 15lbs and measure from the bottom of the slider to the track. It should be about a 1”1/2

My 2020 with 600km on it looks exactly the same. I think MK4 is correct as I do about 100:1 lefthand to righthand powder turns... lol.

I will check to make certain a track clip isn't bent though. I hit something on the left hand side and smashed in the LH footwell reinforcement against the rotor. I had it tipped over to the right last night changing it and it noticed the same wear!

My 17 has the exact same wear on the same left hand side. Checked track tension and it was good. Alignment also was good but never did check to see if a clip was hitting.

Most people with aftermarket cans on there sled do, cause it easier to turn that way.

Yep, very frustrating trying to set the alignment.

My 19 165 is doing the same thing on the left side only, alignment and tension are good, no loose bearings or bushings, nothing bent, twisted or broken. The only thing I can think of that may be causing it is when riding on a severely whooped out trail. When the front of the sled starts climbing out of the hole the back of the track is getting driven up high into the tunnel from the previous hump totally changing the angle of the rails in relation to the track. Just a thought but I’m no expert, still doesn’t explain why it only does it on one side??

One bent track clip can definitely make funny marks, that’s where I’d check first.

The more common theme here is when guys have their alignment/tension set properly (which a rear adjustment only), the front is not the same... this is front drivers not spaced properly. They’re probably evenly spaced to fit the track windows, but shifted slightly to the right causing wear on the outer left side of the front rail guide.
