We all bought too early, heard from a valid source yesterday Cat is dropping a new motor next year. Obviously a 850 or 900 to compete with on paper HP. Cat pulls hard already, but yah gotta impress the buyer.

If the motor doesn't hold up 2019 Cat buyers will be hi-fiving that we bought the right year... If they do hold up, and we are getting smoked out there, we f#kked up buying a year early and kiss our re-sale value goodbye. Good news is for those Bertans with their Iron still turning is: just go buy another new sled... 1 year is long enough to keep em right? Tell your wife they are only 1 year warranty, and it's best financially to turn and burn every season... She'll totally buy that story.

Only thing they best not improve is the steering bushings, as I had to pay $70 + tax/shipping on some aftermarket steering bushings that don't totally suck and sloppy as hell. If they fix that next year, that would be a slap in face...

Could be worse, could of bought a 2017 Skud, Bomboobier is leaving those guys in cold, motor mounts, other warrantied fixes like the 2018's are getting... Thanks for the 1$t year money buyers... Suckers!

Alpha still best sled on snow
, but they might need it next year as G5 is dropping... Word is sleds going to be in the 178-181 HP range stock in 2020.

Saw about 5-6 alphas at chappel
Today. 1 was in our group. His ran great and offered some test drives to some lucky peeps.

1 had an unknown electrical issue. Would start then after trying to move would just die.

3 others had a small issue with the middle track clips peeling away some plastic on the sliders.

Came across 2 aggressive riders both with broken snow flaps.

One of those 2 was losing bolts for his seat.

Everyone who rode them said they were awesome. Well except for the guy with an electrical issue. Lol.

Just got to unplug it.
Not sure why they still have it with the factory teather.

To me it looks like the track clips just need to be a bit more rounded to prevent the scraping. That way the rounded edges rub and don’t cut/scrape per se.

Where is the tps sensor. Just for reference. I’ve never worked on a cat before.

ooooh no, a little bit of slider shavings coming off... Smashed mud-flaps, and seats is just a smashed sled... You ride anything like it's February aggresive in November it's gonna get wrecked up.

And the odd electrical issue... Guy probably pulled a connection or wire apart while working on his own sled... Or was too busy crushing Grey Goose in the Burahndt enclosed to check his wire routing
and zap-strap situation like any routine maintenance on a new sled.


Mean-while in Doo-Landia: Guys still sheering off belts, shot sytem is screwing up left and right, they have 3 motor mounts, and if you bend or fold your rear tunnel on those things riding early season it's
a $5000 - $7000 repair bill... Nice design Bomboobier, A one piece tunnel which goes right to front pretty much, with the intercooler built in so you can not change out separately. Not a giant cash grab at all.

But yah seriously though, where is this TPS sensor so I can be on lookout... LoL

I don't believe the sled will work with the TPS unplugged. The ECM would have no reference. If your referring to the TSS Throttle Safety Switch then yes it can be bypassed. Now I can't say for sure but I thought the TSS was eliminated with the use of the factory installed tether. The spring model had both at the show but the fall model appeared to have the TSS removed. Maybe someone with a 19 could verify this. I did look at the parts book and it does not show the TSS on the handlebar like the 18 does. That being said it could be elsewhere in the book don't know. Hopefully these are small issues that get resolved quickly.

Its in the block on the throttle lever.
Just open it up and unplug the micro switch.
