Pull the y pipe and take a good look.

May have to pull the pistons and replace the rings, or the pistons themselves.

Might have to give the cylinder a slight chase with a hon.

But really nothing, it is on warranty.
Drop it off at the dealer.

But they will run the ECM and if it shows you where at low temp when it happened they will tell you to go eff yourself.

Yeah may not be covered if operating temps were to low. Depends how sporty they are feeling when you make the claim. Lol

Pretty tough to feel the cooler on an alpha or any cat mountain sled for that matter since 2013. I dont start to ride my mountain cat until the temp gauge is half way across the bar

Not my problem. I don't ride it. I will pass your wisdom on to him. He did warm it up tell his gauges said it was ok to go.
My self I wait tell I feel my rear cooler is warm regardless of guages.

Alpha that rides outta my trailer has a cracked rail.

New one on the way, from Cat.
Warranty no question asked.

Heard some speculation that cat will be doing a redesign on the rail and will be issuing a recall.

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
Cat warranty rocks.
No starting a case file and case # to open.
No waiting for an answer from a mysterious corporate high rise building.
No “customer is a hot potato” game between the dealer and factory.
No painful, uncomfortable, escalating a claim to the next level.
No “it’s a wear item” warranty denial.
No “buy parts now while waiting for a warranty” answer.
No “parts at cost, customer pays for labor” long, painful one sided negotiations.
No non-disclosure agreement, no “no posting on internet” legal agreement.(Yes, this is real. I saw it with my own two eyes!)
What a nice breath of fresh air!
Welcoming new customers and taking care of them has long been gone from the sled industry. Thank you Cat. Keep up the great work. I will be on one soon!!!

Turns nice. Rail, sliders and everything else all good since the repairs. Loving this sled, so much fun to ride.

Is that what happened to Brody ? Hahahaha
I believe it’s a standard agreement that you have to sign when they do “goodwill” for you or else you don’t get the goodwill.
I don’t know about Brody’s sitch but man he can lay it down on a sled! I hereby name Brody as one of the premier riders in Squamish!

I have never had to have anyone sign a non disclosure agreement for goodwill. The guy that makes the decision bases it on what kind of oil the customer uses, long time customer of BRP and how far past warranty has been expired will determine the amount of goodwill. Now back in the day I was reimbursed for a heli charge for a customer that had her crank go at very low kms. Was told to keep it quiet. Not sure if the manufacturer still does that sort of thing for select cases.
