There is no denying the cat clutching is better than doos, it has been that way since cat changed to the team clutches. Plus doo has been using the same secondary setup since 2012 MY.

What’s your point ??
They are tuned perfect with a quick adjustment on the numbers .

I'm a troll that's been trollin' but that's the nail on the head! lol broken mono rails and the 850 poopoo ceaser salad..... next year, it'll be the same, "no G5?" "how can the continue to make that major industry blunder"

What lenghth of sled deck? I know my 7ft deck is hard on front skid shocks and that area of that skid when traveling ****$y rough roads, actually piled up the front skid shock in my 2012 proclimb from to many spring miles on the deck.


Just info for anyone interested.

180 lb rider. 90 lbs front ski shocks clicker 1. 40 lbs fts clicker 1. 145 lbs rts clicker 1. 170 miles on the machine. During this time, I did not hit anything that made me think I would have damaged my rear skid. Finished a ride, thawed the sled out in the shop. Set air pressures up (75 skis, 55 fts, 140 rts, all clicker 2 except fts clicker 3) checked sliders, set track tension, loaded sled on the deck and drove to riding area. Pulled in and found my rail broke between the bottom fts mount and the bogy wheel. Didn't even get to unload. Figure it must have had a hairline crack and the drive in finished it off. Did not see a crack in the shop but that could be easily missed when not really looking for cracks. No signs of impact on the rail or suspension. Local shop did a great job of getting me fixed up and going so not a big ride time loss. 38 years old so I am not a road warrior. Best way I could describe it would be I cruise on the moguls not pound.

Love the sled. Most fun snowmobile I have rode (started in the mountains in 98').

Had to turn the photo to meet the size requirements

Good theory. I know my 2015 barely has three lugs on my 7ft deck without the extension. Definitely puts a lot of weight on the front skid shock. I only run without the extension when I'm going across town now.

According to Cat Claims Dept.... there is 10 reported cracked/broken etc. Dunno if that’s accurate but some self admitted they hit something hard... others say didn’t hit a thing! Possibly low air pressure contributed to some. Messing around with my Alpha Skid tonight think one must keep higher pressures to avoid/mitigate bottoming out on bump stops. Just my observation!! I did order the TKI brace kit for chit & giggles.. not sure if I will put on until my question is answered from Cat. “If I install a preventative measure on rail will it void my warranty”... wait & see.

I would bet drilling 50 holes in their monorail would void warrenty.

I can almost guarantee they will void the warranty on the rail. Tough spot because rumor is they are back ordered. Manufacturers can be a royal pain most of the time.

They have parts but if you walk in off the street and want to buy a monorail you need an alpha vin#.

Still backordered on the alpha kits.

yah, I'm sure Cat will want the cracked one back so they can assess the issue. I wouldn't be drilling holes if you are wanting a replacement under warranty

I’m not going to speculate if they will or won’t warranty ... All the BS that parts are back ordered is not correct. If you own one you will get parts.

As for TKI brace kit I spoke with Tom (super nice guy) he has near 80 on the snow and no reports of cracks or issues. As I aluded before it’s possibility there is a certain lot/block/run that may have process/compound/heat/ etc... this can happen in mass production with metals.

How come a 150hp 98ftlbs torque Cat sled can whoop on a 168hp 110ft/lb tq g4 850 Doo?
I mean, Doo has all that industry leading 28% more midrange torque and the class leading hp?
Which engineers are smarter, Doo or Cat?
I'd guess to say that with all the G4 850 failed hype, the good ol' Usa made Quebec look pretty stupid. But then, Brp does a good job on their own! Hahaha.

Hi Brp social media team. It's time to fire the g4 engineering design team. It's blatantly obvious they are incompetent. Check the warranty claims, performance, reliability and loss of market share. I'd have to estimate at least 50% warranty claims from 2017-2019. Shareholders will be pleased, I'm sure. Need I say more? Any ideas/input from the g4 team will fail. Get rid of the whole team and anyone who had a part of this major industry blunder.

As a Doo shareholder I am pleased with my return with BRP. I got in at $19.00 ish in early '16 and unloaded my shares last Aug at just over $70.00. That adds up to a couple G4's or possible G5's in my future. ;) Back on the cracking/ breaking cat mono rail failure thread.
