I’m sure this has been touched on somewhere but I’m asking again. Other than more fins on the secondary, what changes if any were made to the clutching on the 2019 summit from the 2018. I keep hearing how well the 19’s work out of the box and that they’re “dialed in” but all my dealer knows is they put more fins on the back of the secondary to increase air flow. I wanna know if weights are different, springs, helix, gears, etc. Please only actual information, if you wanna be a douche and bash the 850 there’s already plenty of threads for that.

My first ride on my 19 I notice a big difference in the clutching. The clutch is way more responsive off of the start than my 17 was. So I feel like they must have updated the primary aswell, I know the secondary clutch spring has been updated since I changed it out to the updated one on my buddies sled last weekend.(apparently the old one could get piled up and not close the secondary) Unfortunately that's all the info I got and it's all compared to the 17 since I've never rode a 18.

I'm sure happy with the clutching on my '19 G4 so far! Very crisp and pulls real good. Not sure what was done... sled is red though if that helps? Ha ha! I had changed my secondary spring on my '18 to a Green spring (part #417127137) to get it to backshift quicker as in deep powder it seemed sloppy. The '19 is way better out of the box... so far.

Did they put the different cover on with the venting to help with belt heat just this year? I just go a 19x and noticed the floor model didn't have it?

All ‘19’s should have the new cover and vent. I already put one on my ‘18, pulls a lot of heat out for sure but having another vent on the other side in the same spot and pulling that stupid piece of sound foam out makes a really big difference. Also if you want to get serious about clutch cooling, there’s a vent that Menz Toys makes, think you have to by the whole kit to get it but it goes down low in front of the primary.

I'll probably tear into mine next weekend if the forecast doesn't change.

Ive had my 19 all apart since it came out of the crate, I do not like the stock clutching, it lacks top end pull.

The only thing that has changed from 18-19 clutch calibration is the engagement.

Hey Cape cut off an inch from the primary spring and see what happens. I think the gears are too tall and the machine just can't pull the gears. Kinda like being maxed out in 4th gear but pushing on the gas doesn't do anything.
Thinkin out loud.

You bet, Stock clutching yes, but Im already at 1:1 with the stock gearing on my test ride, I could hold my hand on both clutches no prob.
When I had my belt drive on my 13, I had this gear ratio and I really liked it, I want to work with it more on my 850.

I do have other spring Ideas, but I want to get it out of break in before I change to much.
