2019/2020 Mcbride Conditions and Updates

Never said i was, but someone has. This is why people need to learn how to read the maps, so they know that are not in closed areas. Just because you follow some other non compliant guys tracks into an area, or some guy told you on the internet, doesn’t mean you aren’t going to get a fine, or worse. Know where your riding or don’t ride there.

Again, I have not been in there in approximately 10years. I rode mainly in middle and north dore, and I was curious if you had been in the middle or north dore are by the way you were talking.
I got my info from locals, looked at the maps seen where the closure were.
I was curious if you knew the exact boundary where the access was blocked due to the closure. I know there is a different way into south dore, north dore has big country and lots terrain traps in it on the way in, that I remember.
With renshaw so big, I cannot see myself going in to middle and north dore, knowing what I know now.

Your right about going back there. The reward isn’t really worth the effort, especially when you can ride all the way back to the kakwa from renshaw, and you don’t have to worry about closure. I remember all the avy chutes you had to cross. Didn’t some guys die back there a few years back? Anyways, when they get this whole caribou tracking thing up and running, we won’t need to worry about it, and all those little areas will be fair game, I hope...

We also rode in both Dore areas alot 15-20 years ago. Super sketchy hearing the thunder of avalanches then finding them over the trail you rode in on that morning. I’ll also stick to the groomed areas now. Some of us grow old due to luck; some of the places we used to ride are a testament to that theory.

I will look but when I switched phones a couple years back I lost over 2000 pictures.
Lori used that in he class for several years.

Google photos is great for this. Links to a gmail account and automatically transfers any new pics when connected to wifi. Lose or smash your phone? No sweat. You’ll still have all your photos. Contacts are another problem though..

The pictures I am looking for were posted in the McBride March Conditions for 2009.
That thread is gone for some reason.
I believe it was the March 15 weekend.
We were standing on the edge of the avalanche about 25' deep/high.
400' across and 5-600'acros the valley and then up the mountain and about 40' deep in the middle.
Was about km9-11 just before the bridge to the newish power station.
That entire open area was full.
6 of the 7 chute crossings going in slid that day while we were in riding.
Was a bitch to get out - 4 hours..
Barry an Rod went in the next day and the final chute had slid overnight.

Was in there years ago and spooky place .
Sure was nice once into the back end though .
