Making a fish cleaning station on the back half of my engine cover. Barby will go on it too.
Wait till you see her... Man she gets hot! Lol
a bit chilly for shorts but hey
That’s this year?
Today! Just got back to shore and parked away in the yard. Everything still worked but didn’t try the kicker. Trolled a bit, not even a bite... then went up to Marble Point and had a little day fire. Walked the beach both ways, picked up a couple trash items but very clean overall.
Trolling Rainbows and Lakers mostlyWhat are you typically fishing for there?
Saw 4-5 other boats and a couple shore fishermen out there. Was going to go over by Salmon Arm when we first disembarked and wound up just about playing icebreaker over that way, turned around quick! Is that a distracted driving photo lol. You probably were the only lucky one on the water! It’s supposed to get cold here this weekend. River won’t get soft for a bit!
How deep and what lure do you use for lakers?
10-120’ depending on water temps. Haven’t tried to jig them off the bottom much yet, but I have tube jigs and reaper tails to try... I have been using a mooching setup with 25lb mono(might be too heavy but if you incidentally hook a big King when the run starts you will be happy to have it), usually drag an Apex or Lyman or BestLure, sometimes a wet fly/streamer. Sometimes a green triangle spinning flasher, sometimes a silver Gibbs(?) wiggling flasher, sometimes no flasher... 9lb flat finned downrigger ball... we cast crocodiles and Len Thompsons and spinners sometimes if anchored, beached or drifting... not being able to use bait sucks or Id try to figure out a sturgeon over by Copper Island. Lots of the old boys anchor and fly fishin for rainbow right now, lots to try and lots more to learn before I am good at it!! Lol.

We have a good spot for lakers. 90' and we use buzz bombs. Drop anchor, cast out and let go to the bottom, then reel your bag off. They would always hit on the way up.
