If you exhaust brake is on all the time, every time you left off the throttle, it is going to activate slowing you down. You wouldn't find not being able to "coast" annoying?

Nope I like it also. Unless it's really icy it's always on. It saves the brakes so much. In full with tow-haul, even with heavy trailer behind it slows it down really quickly.

Deleted my 2015 beginning of last year - single tow tune and trans tune from Coopers, full turbo-back 4" straight pipe, complete EGR delete and CCV breather. Somewhere around $700 for tuning and $700 for parts, really just bolt-on work so did t all myself. Take truck to Nisku, they flash it and unplug everything they need to, then take home or to desired shop and pull the DPF. Bare minimum would be cheaper, really just need a single tune and chunk of 4" pipe to replace DPF. No issues since tuning, I just find new shifting pattern weird. Got my empty average down to 11L/100 this summer speeding and on 35s.

My 16 had that around 95k. It was the DEF injector. Replaced under warranty.

Flash forward 80k and I'm throwing NOx codes which is either an issue with the DPF or the NOx sensor. Time to delete now.

Dropped my truck off to get the service DEF message looked at.

First bit of feedback so far:

Major emissions components have 96 month 130, 000 km warranty.

But

Diesel emissions has an 80,000 km warranty.

I was about $2500 in parts and I did a full delete with a 5” turbo back exhaust, deleted egr valve and cooler, deleted throttle valve, added a beautiful S&M cold air intake, and a fully adjustable bullydog tuner with pillar mount gauge pod. When you get your quote on what it will cost to repair the system as it is right now I am sure you will be swayed to gut it and get all of the benefits of the deleted truck as well as saving money. Sell the dpf for a %10 return and it hurts even less lol. The delete itself is really not too hard at all to do if you can throw it in the garage and spend a day or two wrenching on it. Worst case scenario you pay a few extra bucks for someone else to do the labour and away you go. Fawk emissions! Nothing but headaches and respiratory issues for your engine.

Well. DEF pump is supposably toast. Dealer said $2900 for that and $1000 to service the EGR shat.

Dealer said they would delete with the full ezlink set up for $4900ish.

Or about $4000 for just a single tune full delete and new exhaust.

Can be done by tomorrow.


My riding buddy has a guy he really trusts and has a local shop.

His price including a transmission tune is $2600 but he can’t do it for 2 weeks.

My buddy ended up getting his done at Castle Customs for $1400. Full exhaust, single tune and he got to keep the stuff. It's straight piped now and a little obnoxious, I think he should have got a muffler. That probably would have added a few hundred.

I just did the full delete on mine yesterday with EZLynk for $1659 tax in shipped to my door. That's with a 4" straight pipe. I got everything from Dirty Diesel. It took me 2 hours on the shop floor, and most of that was trying to get electrical connectors apart

did not get rid of connectors. I just filled all of them with dielectric grease and then bagged them in bags similar to zip locks but better and then heat shrink tube over top. I do not want any gremlins popping up down the road due to a short on a reference voltage circuit or something similar. The only way to get rid of connectors would be to cut them off and then terminate the wiring appropriately.

Did you get rid of the wiring and plugs? If so how.
