You are f'n crazy to buy a ford diesel now with the issues they have. It is like buying a polaris. I don't say this to bash them but when they are running they are great. But too many issues. Ford diesel engines do not have the best track record out there. Buy the best factory warranty you can afford and hope for the best if you do buy one. I like the looks of them though, just would never buy one.

The 6.2 gasser is as good as any of them if not better. Carl kuster uses them exclusively at ckmp.

Are they? Has anyone done spark plug changes in a ton of them to verify they don't have the same issues the 5.4 did?

I can ask our fleet department of the company I used to work for they are a dodge first company unless the vehicle does not the spec which are dodge certainly did not my last truck was a 5.7 3/4 ton with the updated hemi I am guessing a 2010 or 11 total garbage.

6.4's and 6.7's have been solid. The 6 liters had issues. Just a Ford hater getting in his licks.

You got that right. If you want to save big coin a 2016 ford is going for great deals now with a fairly good selection or used 2015s will be around because the 2017 will have everyone hot and heavy

The new ones are super easy to do, in the center of valve cover all wide open and is like changing plugs in a chev as far as time

Early 6.4 was terrible as well. Lost alot of money with a service truck that spent more time on the tow truck.
Have heard good and bad about the 6.7.
Get the best warranty you can and dump it when the warranty is almost up

Frick the 5.4 has been gone since 2008. I got a call from the chevy dealer in salmon arm about my parts being in. trouble is I don"t own a chev just test drove one there. How many transmission recalls on that. As I mentioned the 2010 3/4 dodge 5.7 hemi was terrible for our company but the 2003 3/4 ton 5.7 was even worst it had so many issues it was retired Our 1999 f250 ford 5.4 outlasted it by 2 years and 100,000km

Thought this thread was going to be like the F150 threads. Can I put a deck and 2 sleds and still be under the GVW. Sure glad its just about the engines. Thanks

I haven't heard of many issues with the chassis. It is usually just the trans or the Diesel engine. Hopefully not many have issues after spending that much cash on a truck.
