Well that video certainly indicates the Poo has the upper hand on packed snow in a drag race. Wondering who set clickers on the Doo? It would be interesting to see a 850 set up for the deep snow in mountains against the Poo with a meter of new snow on a steep pull

The Polaris is light and fast but as Keith says deep snow is a different story. The 850 will not slow down like the Polaris as it will be a torque monster. If you look at Diesel motors they have a great big fly wheel to smooth them out but it also helps them maintain their speed while pulling up steep grades. The tendency to lighten the engines and rotating mass can make the motors accelerate fast but also can make the motor fall off rpms fast too. Ski-doo has increased torque to overcome this tendency. If they could run it at a little higher rpm it would be interesting to see if there would be any further increases.

Wonder if the 2.6" axys would have beat it? The low gearing of the 3" models and the extra weight does slow them down some.

I have found that my 2.6 is much faster in set up snow than the 3" with a chaincase. If that was a 2.6 the race would have been tied, maybe the axys would have bet 850!!

Just admit it you POO POO riders . You are all scared of what is to come next winter. these stupid comparisons on icy trails mean nothing. It just means the ski doo spins more. Ski doo was already named as mountain sled of the year for 2017 and the spanking hasnt even begun. Support ski doo your home grown pride Canadians.
