Not trying to take this sideways, but how are the other areas for snow and accessibility?
Chappel for example.

Well boys and girls here's the scoop on Valemount .
Sorry Storch, Catman and turbo but I gotta let the "Cat" out of the bag lol
Allen Creek Thursday Nov 16
- it is still early season
- 8 inches in the parking lot
- Full snow coverage on trail , I will assume after 40 sleds today it will be iced up pretty good .
- probed 120 - 160 cm in various areas
- snowed most of day , visibility poor
- 16-20 inches of fresh dropped this week
- creeks are still open and lots of dangers still hiding under the 2-3 ft of powder but we are seeing a good base .
- we played for 4 hrs with no carnage so we figured that was a good day .
-
I have no info on Clemina or chapple ,

Here's some pics , it was a horrible day lol

In them hills.
If anyone's up over the weekend and wouldn't mind digging out my sled in caribou bowl it would be appreciated. Just not sure how much it's going to snow and still waiting for a break in weather for the bird. Who knows it might be fine
What happened man?

Clemina Friday Nov 17

Rode from parking lot where maybe 5-8cms. Road was recently plowed by property owner until just before 4k so very thin to that point but OK beyond. I toured up from road to Hill-Climb area. There has been lots of wind with the recent snow so can go from 100cm to 10cm really quickly when passing over high spots. Dug a couple of pits at about 6600ft, north-east and south aspect. About 110cm total snow depth at both locations. Both had a 5cm thick layer about 50cm down that gave moderate compression test results above CTM12-14 and below CTM17-19. Wind-effected north-east aspect was giving easy results down about 15cm in recent storm snow. A pseudo-rutshblock test (column not isolated on sides or back) above each pit failed on top of the crust on the first jump.

Thanks to whoever broke trail on Thursday. And the snowman at 11km is still doing fine.

Snow has been hammering the high country in the Valemount area. The alpine riding has been exceptional. Measurements from 150cm to over 200cms have been gathered over the weekend and its continuing to come down. We still need a good dose of lower valley snow to get the groomers out, so the trails are in early season condition and will begin to show signs of wear very soon.

Allen and Chappell creek riding areas have good early season access right from the staging area and amazing alpine conditions.

Clemina has good access from the main staging area as well, although we have had no reports of of alpine riding conditions.

Keep your wits about you and check www.avalanche.ca before your ride. If you do venture out, please report any of your findings to the Mountain Information Network through Avalanche Canada. This can be as simple as uploading a few pictures to the app.
