We were up Clemina on Sunday May 6. Parked just past 7km when first hit snow. There is still one shady hill holding quite a bit of snow at around 8km, and gravel came and went until about 11km. If that shady hill melts out this week, I would think you'll be able to drive up to at least 11km this weekend (there is a good parking/turnaround spot just past 11km). If that shady hill doesn't melt out this week, you'll have at least 3km of solid gravel.

We tried to access Allan yesterday after trying Clemina. Some fairly generous soft and rutted out sections.Wasn't feeling optimistic on getting to far in with dually 1 ton and deck. Singles would be better! Ended up back down in Groundhog west for the day

Like you rode clemina, then tried for Allen a different day? Which zone had the bad ruts?

We tried Clemina first on Monday morning. Got just 500 yards from the trail pass shack on main trail/road. Just up and over the little hill before the parking lot. We parked and walked up the trail abit. Looked fairly soft and rutted up for a stretch, but in a earlier post, some guys made it up there on Sunday. We have a 1 ton dually with a deck, but you would be better off with singles. I'm sure if weather stayed warm, it will have dried up some. We then drove to Allan and got up to marker #1. It was definently more rutted up and greasy than Clemina. Backed down and just headed back to Blue River. Was last day ride of the year so didn't want to give up!

You can drive up to km7 on the FSR as long as you have a radio. It’s a pretty active road. We did it a few weeks ago. Thinking of heading out for another rio this weekend

This sounds like you began your journey on the snowmobile trail...not the FSR Road. The FSR road begins .5km south of the main staging area

We saw vehicle tracks going up that road so followed them up to just over the hill. Bad choice! Know for next spring trip to access FSR road to south.

We helped a guy out of there a few years ago that thought the same thing. Pulled a big enclosed right into the swamp.

Was super warm on Friday and Sat when we got our last rides in 20-24c, snow was disappearing pretty quick if any rock exposed etc, started to get some water pooling in goat bowl and lots of rotten slush holes around, trail towards the old cabin was long washed out and flowing hard, but had a blast and got a super deadly sunburn haha. Easy haul up to km 11, for the hassle of turning around further up the road just went from there, only a few hundred meters until there was snow patches and solid snow trail a couple km up, but.., it had gotten noticeably thinner by the end of the day Sat on the way down..
Sled is washed and put away for a summer nap, thanks Curtis and all at VARDA for another amazing season!
