Snow level is past the elevation closure gate now at Boulder at 15 km. You can expect the gate to be locked next wk. some time. You are riding about 1/2 km of gravel from gate to hit snow as of yesterday. The closure is to wheeled vehicles to protect the alpine. Please don`t drive up past gate, there is no parking, no where to turn around and the trenches to divert water are deep.
I saw that pic as well. Its quite amazing with all the heat in Western Canada to date that the snow looks that good at the cabin?Saw a picture of Frisby with some good snow coverage on it from two days ago... whats summer access like to Frisby compared to boulder? I know boulder has the gate at 15 so likely hardly any snow left at the cabin but Frisby looks like good coverage still. Am I crazy to be thinking about one last summer ride? We can handle a km or 2 of dirt but what does it take?
Ya buddy that posted on west coast sledderz, from Canada day at bluelake said any place there wasn't snow it was grass cracking dry, they didn't stop on grass at all just on caseThey are saying to stay out of the back country right now. Probably just start a fire or some chit to go sled dirt......
not that Id go but just curious if theres still snow at the tower on Sale.
Awesome pics ! How long did it take you to get to the cabin ? I believe it was about 25 km from highway to the cabin on sled.
