Just a heads up to anyone coming, the trails up to both frisby and boulder cabin have lots of obstacles along the way. Anywhere the sleds have to go single track has rocks, mud, and ice. Please take it easy on the trail as it's not very fun to smash sleds before you make it to the cabin. One part of the trail at frisby was icy enough that a sled slid backwards down it. So just keep this in mind with the space you leave between each other as you're making your way up. That being said the snow up high makes it all worthwhile.

In them hills.
Well you know it was going to happen, someone put their trailer over the edge up Frisby.
It is suggested you use only trucks/decks, 2 place open trailers and good snow tires. You are travelling up a snow covered, steep, single wide forest service road. Parking and turn around areas are limited and change daily with snowline.
Access up Boulder is only up the Kirkup trail, they are still logging up the Bezanson. Be prepared to meet loaded logging trucks and tandem gravel trucks hauling from 3 km. Bezanson/Kirkup junction.
Radio channel is posted as you enter Boulder front lot, use a radio or travel with someone who does.
I know the pics. you see look epic, but there are access issues and hazards when riding this early.
The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club has moved grooming equipment up the mtns. but we need sufficient snowfall to start building trails.
The Club is trying to keep you updated but only know what we see and hear, same as you.
You can check our FB page Revelstoke Snowmobile Club
or website Revelstoke Snowmobile Club | Est. 1968, Snowmobiling in Revelstoke- Area 51, Boulder Mtn, Frisby Mtn, Griffin, Turtle, Begbie, Joss, McRae, Keystone, Sale, Caribou Basin, Hall for updates also.
Got any pictures?
Wonder what his tow bill was?
Yikes. Goes to show logging truck drivers have mad skillz.

No pics, probably a good thing. Tow company hauled a John Deere tractor up to save the day and yes those truck drivers working on those roads in winter have skills!!!!! The club works closely with the logging co. and gravel pit at this time of yr. When we start to groom they are typically done or we work together controlling snowmobile and vehicle traffic until we can stage at the trailheads.

Most guys we ride with carry chains in the trailer for those ulgy conditions, Revy is not set up the best for trailers up the hill, pull outs are small and rough..make sure you follow someone going up with a radio or follow a logger up.. Found out the hard way a few years back, and had to back down miles..

Sounds like a few weeks away from good safe riding

OR one good snow dump.

Our annual turkey day ride is this week. It should be an adventure. Good snow up top, but a challenge to get there.

We have chains, and small trailers, with decks on the trucks too. I think we will have a blast.

With this mix of rain and snow over the past few days and few days into the future, is the snow line creeping down towards the parking lots yet?
reminds me of two years ago same weekend, was on the fence on bringing the 4 place and day before riding they got snow down low and was ok with the 4 place.
We are travelling weds. riding Thursday...

Was in Revy yesterday for work. Snowline has come down big time, much lower than it is in Malakwa/Sicamous. Still has to come down a ways to get to the parking lots though.

· An update;
The RSC has not started to groom yet, we have moved machines up the mtns. but there is not enough snow on trails to work with yet. Have heard the trails up both Frisby and Boulder are RUFF.
You are parking up a steep, single wide, snow covered forest service rd.
Parking is along side the rd and turn arounds are minimal.
Until the ground freezes the km mark you will unload changes with the snowline and that depends on precip and temps....
It is suggested you use a deck, or 2 place open trailer and good snow tires.
Yes the snow looks great up top, it is getting to it that is challenging and there are still hazards once you are there.
We expect it to be very busy with the American holiday this wknd.
Access up Boulder is only up the Kirkup trail!!!! Be prepared to meet tandem gravel trucks and logging trucks from the 3 km Kirkup/Bezanson junction at 3 km.
Radio channel is posted as you enter front Boulder lot. It is suggested you use a radio or travel with another vehicle that does.
There is some snow in the forecast, but nothing amazing.
Have a great wknd. everyone, get us pics.
If your waiting for better conditions don`t forget about the snow show in Vernon this wknd.
Check the Yamacam there is still less than 4 ft. of snow at Boulder cabin and you can see open water.
